I don't understand what the raving is all about. Agreed, the setting is exceptional. But after that...? The gesture of the lady who financed the renovation can only be applauded, but having thrown out last summer's (2013) crew (for whatever reason) was definitely a set-back. The staff in place now is awful... from their attitude and behavior to the way they operate the place and treat their customers. Yes, indeed, reservations are a must... but try to get through to them: "We have more important things to do then answer the phone!" The new 'Carte' and its prices is another let-down... for a place that is (just) a little summer canteen with nothing special on the menu... except for steep charges. It used to be (a lot) different... and better... and at reasonable costs... and with a phone answering machine to make reservations. Service, too, is something these new tenants must learn. The waiter smoking in the back and telling his guest to ask a colleague for coffee isn't exactly the way to leave a (good) impression. Neither is the waitress who sits down to eat, hoping that somebody else will notice that her patrons are waiting for the rest of what they ordered. And this during lunch-time when the place is packed. Yep, indeed, the surroundings are unique and the view is awesome. But for such an environment (on the main route to Nyon) to attract clients is rather easy. What I'm saying is this: Don't make it a habit to frequent the place too often... you’ll get more and more disappointed and eventually won't go back. At least that's what I promised myself, while hoping that the old team is asked to come back for next year's season.
PS: Oh, yes, there is one more thing I'm hoping for: That the bloody coffee brand/machine is changed. What's being served now is disgusting. And I'm not the only one with this wish!!!
