“The Good , the Bad and the Tiny”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 March 2007

Overview:
My husband and I stayed here for 6 days during a ski trip in February, which was execellent, but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The Good:
The hotel is somewhat ok, it's clean, is in a good location. The restaurant is actually above average, with very good food and good service. Their Wellness Center is excellent, with a several options; sauna, steam room, water beds, tropical shower, etc... by far the best feature in the hotel (although there is one small issue...). One of our rooms (to be explained later) was a good size , with a balcony that had a nice view of the Alps.

The Bad:
The front desk staff is inexperienced and a little slow as was a bar tender who was a teenager and didn't know what Port is! The pool and the jacuzzi are both quite cold (apparently for hygenic reasons according to the staff). The small issue with the Wellness Center will only effect modest people as it is a "Finish" Wellness Center and therefore is meant to be used without any bathing suits on. My husband and I wore our bathing suits and one guest actually asked me to either take it off or leave the area. I spoke to the owner and she also told me that we are suppost to be naked, it's their custom, but she could not force us, so we contiuned wearing our bathing suits but the "looks" from the other guest made us unconfortable.

The Tiny:
The worst part is that they messed up our reservation, and for 3 nights we had to sleep in a room the size of a closet (room 300), facing an alley. It was horrible, and they couldn't do much for us as the hotel was completely booked. Room 300 is the only room of this size in the hotel. If you choose to stay here, avoid it at all costs.

We can definietly recommend this hotel. My wife and I and our Parents all enjoyed our stay. The staff are very welcoming, the food was pretty good with outstanding salad buffets as part of the six course dinner.
The hotel was much nicer than we had expected even after fairly extensive research on the net beforehand.
We didn't hear any noise from the bars which were separate from the hotel .

This Hotel provided an excellent New year experience for my family and I.
Centrally located the team of staff were so friendly and accomodating that everythin seemed like a pleasure.

Would go again. Pity the snow was a bit icy for skiing!

First let me say that Saas-Fee is a beautiful little town worth a visit. Unlike most of the other stops on our Swiss tour, Saas-Fee has almost no American tourists.

However this hotel left much to be desired. Our first room was very small and had a strange window between the bathroom and bedroom which meant if someone turned on the bathroom light in the middle of the night, they would wake up the person in the bedroom. We upgraded to a larger room which did not have that problem and had a great view. Hair in the bathroom in both rooms. The modern decor didn't quite click and the staff was not very friendly.

There is a pool, jacuzzi and sauna but they were all pretty cold. Bathrobes and slippers where provided which was nice. Good location but I would not return.
