The lazy way to get here is to get the Hannig cablecar and walk down. (Don't be tempted by the toboggan run unless you are an experienced dangerous sports fan and drunk.) Walking up from the bottom is noble and makes your destination even more worthwhile.
If I live to be 100 I doubt if I shall ever taste better apfel strudel. It is made on the premises and is so wonderful it defies description. If you like this sort of cake and have not been here then put this modest café at the top of your list of places to go. The service is friendly, the coffee is good, the view, as the name indicates, is fabulous.
Sitting on the terrace in the sunshine, looking down on Saas Fee with a coffee and a large piece of their apfel strudel in front of you is my idea of heaven.
Even if it is too cold to sit out it's gemütlich inside. And there are more cakes looking at you...
When you leave Saas Fee it is hard to avoid looking wistfully up the hill to this little café and wish you weren't going.
