The Linde is a family owned hotel not too far from the center of Baden. It looks bigger than it is. There are 14 floors but about 1/2 of those are actually offices of some sort. The complimentary breakfast is very good and the waitress was fantastic. I stayed for 5 nights and after the first day she had memorized my room number and coffee order. There is a bakery in the hotel providing fresh baked bread and rolls that were fantastic. Great place to stay in Baden.

Room Tip: Rooms that open to forer on each floor seem to be a bit larger. Also watch out for very deep tub, it...

The hotel is near city center (however Baden is very small). The Hotel is inside a kind of Skycraper and has rooms at different floor (8-9-11-12-13 I think). I had room number 1311. Room is large enough to fit 2 Person (not wiht child!), bathroom is good and the TV had a lot of Channels. No minibar, No fitness, and not really space just to chill (hat a sofa but is small). Breakfast was good, nothing special but god. The hotel as a very good restaurant where you can eat swiss speciality (like meat), however the price is quiet expensive. Parking area just attached at the hotel. Staff not really friendly.
So, if you have to sleep just 1 night is ok. I still wonder why this hotel is so expensive (CHF 270 for one double room)

Was booked at Hotel Linde by business associates. Room was on a corner of the 13th (yes I know…13) floor. Very spacious room with a balcony. Too cold and rainy to use balcony, but lot of windows and very airy feeling. Slept well, as they have a choice of several pillows. Basic traffic noise from below, no worries. Internet access is free in the restaurant and lobby. You have to ask for network password every 24 hours. Wi-Fi available in room via provider and pay by credit card or home account. Service in café is very good and meals are tasty. Price is normal for Baden. Beer on tap is HB Munchen . Not remarkable brew, as the hot ticket in beer is the local Muller. Get the Dunkel, trust me. The walk from/to the train station takes you through the old city of Baden. Some good and bad places to eat. Ask the Swiss, or to be safe, eat at Linde. Breakfast is fine with hot eggs, sausage (for the Americans) and all the normal continental things (cheese, meats, breads). Never was hungry. All the rooms are on the upper floors and the lift is a tiny can. Reminds me of that rescue cylinder they used to get the Peruvian miners out. I was hesitant to join a lady in the lift, as I felt I was intruding on her space, but no problem in the end. Don’t bring huge bags. Parking is provided in a garage, but there is a charge. English is spoken. Overall pleasant experience.

Room Tip: Get a corner

I traveled from the USA on business to Baden, Switzerland the first week in December and, although the Hotel Linde was not my first choice, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. It is very convenient to the train station (5 min walk) and my company's offices and Baden is a nice town in general that you can see mostly by walking. The hotel has about 12 floors and with maybe 6 rooms on each floor. My room was very comfortable (corner room), had a balcony, and the bed was comfortable. The rate, $215 CHF/night, included breakfast. I only had breakfast in the restaurant but it was good and had a good selection. The staff at the desk spoke English and were very friendly. There was a bar but I didn't see many people in it during the 3 nights I was there (except for some colleagues and me). I definitely would recommend this hotel for the business traveler and vacationers would probably like it too. The only down side is the elevator. It will hold 4 people or 2 with luggage. Luckily, there aren't many rooms so I didn't have to wait much.

I had been there for business travel in July 2011 for 6 nights and 7 days.

Its very convenient for commute, its close from train station, there is a bus stop right in front of it.

The staff is nice and warm. We arrived an hour after their official lunch time was over, yet they did serve us the much needed food :). Also guided us about sight seeing and stuff when enquired!

Food is ok, breakfast is also ok, nothing memorable as such.

Room is small and weird, with no real closet, just a couple of hangers and 2 slots to put your clothes in. The internet access is very expensive!!

Worst part is as everyone pointed out, there is no Air conditioner and neither a fan!

Dear Sir,
First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time and sharing your impressions about your stay at the Hotel Linde Baden with us. We constantly aim to improve our service and our infrastructure in order to satisfy the expectations of our guests. Even though negative feedback is never nice to receive, we try to avail this opportunity and improve our service and quality standards.

As regards the price for the wireless internet access we would like to point out that as of June 2011 we provide a free internet access in the public area of the hotel, this includes the Cafeteria, the Reception/Lobby, the Lounge, the Hotel Bar as well as the Restaurant on the 1st floor and the Breakfast area. This internet access is free of charge and may be used by our hotel guests 24/7. Further, at the reception we also provide a business station computer (incl. printer), which our hotel guests may use free of any charge to access the internet. Many of our clients need a security certified internet access to be able to access their companies’ networks or intranets. Therefore, the Wireless Lan that our guests may access in the rooms is such a security certified access and is provided by Swisscom, which also determines the prices for this access.

Since we have only a few very hot days in summer, there is normally no air conditioning necessary. For our guest’s convenience we equipped all rooms with powerful fans in July 2011.Finally, we will evaluate whether and how a rearrangement of the closets could be of use for our guests.

Finally, we are looking forward to a second chance welcoming you again in our hotel.
With our best regards
Family Wanner & Hotel Linde Team

We stayed for 2 months in one of the apartments on the 7 th floor with 2 small children, it was temporary while we found a house, it was unbelivibly hot in the apartment and no form of air conditioning and with 2 small children on the 7th floor we could only tilt the windows!!! We went out and had to purchase 8 fans to keep us cool, we had to keep our rubbish on the balcony as they only go out on the sidewalk once a week so you can imagine the smell and with nappies aswell yuck!, we complained about the rubbish and was told that other people do it so it should be fine, the iron in the apartment didn't have steam and when I told the mananger it needed to be replaced he told me to iron with a damp towel!!! Not a good first experience in a new country

Dear Guest,
First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time and sharing your impressions about your stay at the Hotel Linde Baden with us. We constantly aim to improve our service and our infrastructure in order to satisfy the expectations of our guests.
As you mentioned, in the Hotel Linde Building there is not only the Hotel with its rooms, there are also apartments and offices in the same building. The Hotel offers apart from the classic hotel rooms one furnished apartment for rent. Hotel rooms and furnished apartments are substantial different lodging concepts (in price and services level).
We apologize for the inconvenience during your stay in this apartment and would like to point out the following:
Your comment on the air conditioning we certainly understand. All of our hotel rooms are equipped with a fan, the apartment on the other hand is equipped with a basic stock of all kind of home furnishings. Upon your feedback we will consider to equip the apartment with a fan too, as well as acquire an iron with steam.
Further, we would like to point out that if a company or private person rents the furnish apartment, it is like renting a regular “unfurnished” apartment elsewhere. Thereby the tenants are responsible for cleaning, cooking, washing cloth, etc. themselves. Hence, the apartment is not part of the hotel, and will not be cleaned every day, towels won’t be changed daily, nor is breakfast included. On the other hand, you can use the washing premises to wash your cloths yourself, as all the other tenants can, whereas the hotel guests can only use the washing service offered by the hotel.
As regards the waist, what our manager meant is that in Baden the waist is collected once a week by the community. All the tenants of the building deposit their waist once a week in the evening outside the houses on the street, where it is picked up in the morning by the city waste service.
Again, hotel rooms and furnished apartments are substantial different lodging concepts. However, in case our Hotel staff has missed to unambiguously point out to these differences we sincerely apologize.

With our best regards
Family Wanner & Hotel Linde Team
