A marvellous Hotel with excellent Service at the gorgeous 'Vierwaldstadtersee'. We enjoyed a 4 day break at this Hotel and felt like we just spend over a week of Holiday after we left. The kindliness of the personnel, the Beauty of the Hotel and rooms, the concept and Beauty of the spa, the Quality of the various Restaurants is unrivaled. Room rates aren't cheap but you get a lot more back for your Money than you expected.

So different from the often a bit stuffy traditional Swiss grand hotels. The hotel has been completely renovated and turned around a few years and now beautifully marries classic structures with cool modern design. The location on Lake Lucerne is fantastic, we arrived by car from Zurich and the drive is scenic and beautiful. Walking into the lobby you are faced with an overwhelming lake and mountain view. Service at the hotel was amazing, from being greeted by name by the doorman, to the hotel tour and in-room check-in by a charming receptionist, very friendly and thoughtful housekeeping attendant and lovely service at breakfast. Only exception was service for a late dinner on the terrace, long waiting times and disinterested staff (were served by four different people), so the next evening we had dinner at a lakefront restaurant on the way back from Lucerne. They have a variety of room designs (we asked for and were shown a few) so it’s really worth exploring their website before booking. We hadn’t done that but loved our room which was very spacious with an open bathroom concept (I’m not a fan, but it was ok apart from the usual flooding on the floor), an entryway (separated by a glass door) with espresso machine and cooking plate, and a walk-in closet. Very nice bathroom amenities, large Bose flat-screen and sound system. We didn’t get to use the spa and pool, but definitely worth a visit. We had excursion plans and concierge/reception staff were great and spontaneously drove us to the boat station so we could catch the boat we needed. Another lovely touch was the little bag we got on departure with bottled water and granola bars made in house. Wonderful stay, would love to come back.

One of my favorite places in Switzerland, elegant and tranquil.

The best way to get there is the boat trip from Lucerne.

The hotel has a wonderful SPA and swimming pool.

I highly recommend the Lake Terrace Restaurant which is directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne.

If you have time you can take the train to the top of Mountain Rigi.

Our stay was so great. The staff are so great and welcome. The hotel is so clean and comfortable and our stay was great. Will come back and recommend it to others. The vice manager was so welcome and assist us and showed us the hotel and we got an upgrade.
Thank you

The Vitznau is a 30 minute drive from Lucerne. We arrived after traveling for two weeks and we were met with open arms. The hotel has been totally remodeled and has the latest technology from door entry to touch switches for lighting, showers etc. All of the techno upgrade is inside the shell of a wonderful old structure. The staff is magnificent and there to serve you. A ferry go to and from Lucerne hourly and can be pick up 400 meters away. The staff will drive you to the port and make sure you buy the correct day pass. They will also pick you up upon your return. The 5 star resturant was closed on Sun and Monday so we chose to eat in the bar where the food, drink and company were excellent. The only complain we had was that our room was very warm so we ended opening the doors in the evening and enjoyed the fresh air. The bathroom is large and the bed is very cozy. Great place to put your feet up!!

Room Tip: Lake view is superior to the "mountain" view
