The hotel is very close to train station, views are brill out the window. Few thing to look at is in our room we had a massive crack in a over mirror lamp and a hole on the wall, which should be sorted before other guests check in, as it brings the quality of stay down.

We stayed here for three nights on our journey across the Swiss Alps. Our arrival was marred by the absence of snow and the delay checking in due to the absence of reception staff. Our room was a lovely large space with two double windows a sitting area with sofa, chairs, coffee table and desk and very comfortable bed. The public lounge was the star of the hotel for me. It is spacious and light with plenty of comfortable sofas and armchairs and free wifi. The dining room is also large with huge chandeliers. On the first night we dined, there were only a few guests and the atmosphere felt rather bleak. On another night there was a large gathering of the curling club and the place felt much better with the buzz of people and the live music entertaining them and us. We selected from the menu each morning and mostly the food was pretty good. Each evening a young woman whizzed around the tables to ask if everything was ok. It would have been nice if she had introduced herself. I used the good sized swimming pool on two days and on each occasion I was the only one. The first time there were no lights and I couldn’t find the switches. It was actually rather pleasant swimming in the dark.

Stayed in January for the week's winter activities holiday organised by Inn travel. Fantastic hotel. Everywhere clean and warm. Had the pool to ourselves. Restaurant waiters were especially charming. Breakfast was adequate but the evening meals were of a very high standard, with good choice and good wines.

Stayed here for a week on an Inn Travel winter holiday. This is a lovely hotel in a small village surrounded by incredibly beautiful scenery. Our "Comfort Room" was, indeed, comfortable and also spacious and very clean. Facilities are good, including a fair sized pool that was always quiet during our week. The public areas are very pleasant and welcoming.
What made this stay really special were the evening meals, served in fabulous surroundings. A delicious and varied menu with food that was always beautifully presented. We all looked forward to breakfast time so that we could see the menu choices for the evening!
All members of staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Choose a comfort room or suite.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 12 day tour through Switzerland and while we had a wonderful stay in the area (due to a fresh pack of snow) and enjoyed the friendly front desk service on check in, the large lounge area and stylisch breakfast room, a few areas let the place down somewhat: The room whilst decent in size (we were given a free upgrade from the standard room we booked), felt somewhat out of date due to the furniture used which neither was modern, nor had the old world charm one might aspect in a place such as this; the bathroom whilst large and spotlessly clean was in need of modernising too; The breakfast on offer was somewhat underwhelming; There was an issue with our bill upon check out and it took a while to get it sorted out.
We didn't eat in the hotel. so can't comment on that. All in all, a perfectly fine hotel for a day or so as part of a trip, but go for the location (in a place with access to wonderful all year round hiking trails) & character of the diningroom and lounge and not with too high expectations, especially in terms of the rooms.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a party of 40 just before Christmas. The public areas, dining and lounge are stunning and extremely well furnished and comfortable. They also have a delightful but badly lit library, indoor swimming pool and children's playroom. The bedrooms were large and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped and the mirror well lit and accessible for a change. The towels could have been a bit thicker and bigger. The decor was a bit tired as was the furniture. One of our duvet covers was stained.

Although we had been told they did not provide tea/coffee making facilities there was a 'capsule' drinks machine in the room which was appreciated. However the supply was mean and not replenished and the cups were paper. In a hotel which boast of its quality we would expect china.

I know it is difficult to cater for a large group satisfactorily but the hotel does have some issues to address as regards the food. The food we had, a set menu, was well presented but very mean in quantity and reminded one of the ghastly 'nouvelle cuisine' of the 80s. One of the dishes, a sweet and sour fish dish was so spicy as to be virtually inedible. The breakfast boiled eggs were a farce. Basically they provide a basket of raw eggs, a boiler which is barely simmering and holders to clip the eggs to the side of the boiler. The eggs took at least 12 minutes to boil and some people found, when they went to collect them, that they they had been taken by someone else! We asked through our tour leader is they could provide a bowl of pre-boiled eggs like most hotel do but apparently they do not have staff in the kitchen in the mornings!

The drinks in the bar were expensive but the service was courteous and good.

We like to rooms and the public areas but would not stay here again because of the food issues.

We were the guests from hell during a Christmas stay this year. We all came down with flu on the morning we left the UK, and arrived angry, tired and in my daughter's case, prone to projectile vomiting. The couple who run the hotel and their daughter couldn't do enough for us, whilst enduring our whining with gracious smiles. They gave us advice and help, and even dished out from their own private medication when things were really grim. We were half board, and the meals we were able to eat truly were 5*. The Christmas trips through the forest and around town in a sled made it wonderfully festive, and the staff - every single one of them - were faultless. We couldn't have asked for more. One thing confuses me - why is it only rated a 3* hotel?

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear look out to the mountains, at the front it's the village and the mountains...
