This is a secluded characterful restaurant off one of the narrow shopping streets of the old town. In good weather you can eat al fresco in an inner courtyard under a trellis of vines. In Fermi-Dirac's experience the welcome and the service are most friendly and charming as well as quick and effective. Fluent English is spoken. One feels very much at home.
There is a varied range of dishes and drinks on the menu. Main courses are ample and are accompanied by suitable vegetables or pasta etc. where appropriate. It is obvious that care is taken in the preparation and especially in the beautiful presentation of food. (Just one criticism: our drinks were not quite cold enough.) Fermi-Dirac has only been here once, but would happily return.
You pay more for dinner here than at the tourist cafes by the lakeside, but substantially less than at the five-star places favoured by the yacht-and-Ferrari set. If you are seeking a peaceful and expertly-cooked meal away from the crowds, it's well worth trying here.
