“The absolute perfect December getaway”
Reviewed 16 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

This place is truly wonderful. I have stayed in many cottages, boutique b and bs and more and Phil and Naomi's Abbotsleigh Cottage really does trump nearly all of them. Beautifully decorated and fitted throughout, in a beautiful Somerset village. We ventured into Bath, just ten mins by train from the village station and went on some wonderful walks in the surrounding countryside. Homemade brownies on arrival were the literal and metaphorical icing on the cake.

“Quiet, comfortable apartment”
Reviewed 17 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Well appointed, very clean and comfortable apartment in a quiet pretty village. Convenient rail link to Bath and good local pub for dinner. Lots of lovely walks especially for summer visitors (but a bit hilly for running).

“Nice cottage experience”
Reviewed 15 November 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Great to be away from downtown. Driving to then parking there is easy. Walking 10 minutes to the train station was also pleasant. Everything was clean, neat and worked well in the house.

Host were very friendly!

“fantastic short break”
Reviewed 9 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

stayed for two nights at the end of October and had a fantastic time, the cottage is really cosy and all fixtures and fittings like new , after we arrived went for a walk to find the station and visited the local community shop /coffee shop and had some lovely homemade cake the local people were very welcoming , the next morning we spent the day in Bath which was a really nice day on the open top bus, when we arrived back we went for a meal at the new inn Bradford on Avon which is highly recommended, two days was not long enough to explore the area and we will return soon,if you need to escape from day to day hectic life we think you will not find better accommodation and location so don't hesitate and book it you won't be disappointed

“Wonderful cosy retreat in the beautiful village of Freshford”
Reviewed 18 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The apartment within the owners house is beautifully decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings. The owners are friendly and helpful and there are plenty of leaflets and information for places to visit. The bed is large and comfortable and the rooms warm. There is a wood burner, which you do not need due to the central heating, but I had it up and running a few times (a man thing!). The entire place was very clean with some basic provisions of milk, tea and coffee. We would definitely come back again and have already recommended Abbotsleigh to friends and family.

“One of the best holiday rentals which I have had.”
Reviewed 2 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The house is immaculate, very quiet, has everything that you need and shows that a lot of thought has gone into making this a superb rental. There is a nice garden to sit out in, with a lovely view. This rental is so good that it is difficult to know what else to say.
I slept on the sofa bed, which was amazingly comfortable for a sofa bed.
Freshford is a very pretty village with an excellent shop, café and pub. Public transport links with Bath or Bradford on Avon make having no car a very easy option, allowing you to escape the bustle of the city. There are public footpaths everywhere in the village, with several longer walks available. The area is very pretty, with lots of woodland, valleys and old villages built from Cotswold stone.
I can't recommend Abbotsleigh Cottage too highly.

Liked best: Silence at night apart from an owl on the wire outside the front door, which was lovely.
Liked least: If I had been driving, the narrow lanes of Freshford would have been a challenge for me.

“DELIGHTFUL!!”
Reviewed 12 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Does'nt having a good night's sleep make all the difference when you're away from home.

I'm like the 'Princess and the Pea' with a bad back .. and truly THIS IS THE BEST BED EVER!! The quality mattress is beautifully sprung with a wool and silk topping and the fine white cotton sheets carefully ironed.

The cottage is ergonomically designed, quiet, spotlessly clean, comfortable .. the view is lovely and so are Naomi and Phil.
