We had a fantastic time at Villa Maieletta and would thoroughly recommend it as a destination for anyone wanting a peaceful and tranquil holiday environment. Stephen and Kate are fantastic hosts and were always approachable, welcoming us daily with friendly smiles and providing us with a wealth of invaluable information about the local area. We stayed in the Martellese apartment, which is as luxurious and picturesque as described. The views from the apartment balcony of the Maiella mountains are sumptuous and will certainly not disappoint and there are many other fantastic sites and places to visit in the area as a whole. In particular we would recommend a day spent visiting Grotta del Cavallone followed by dinner in ab beautiful town called Salmona.

The location is brilliant with wonderful views. An ideal place from which to explore the surrounding country side and neighbouring villages. The accommodation is superb, having everything that one could possibly need, including an excellent shower. The village shop is very handy and is only a short walk away as is the agriturisme providing fantastic meals at very reasonable prices. The owners made us most welcome and were very helpful with information concerning the area.

Villa Maieletta offers the ideal Italian countryside retreat.
Kate and Steve are the perfect hosts; welcoming, friendly and willing to share their own pressed olive oil should you run out. The apartments have modern, well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms whereas the bedroom offers something more traditional; antique bedroom furniture providing the perfect retreat and leading to a private balcony with panoramic views.
Kate and Steve’s knowledge of the local region is invaluable. They can point you in the right direction for a festival (of which there are many) or recommend places of local interest. For the more active, they can devise walking, running or cycle routes from novice to expert. A great way to sample local life as it actually is.
Villa Maieletta’s jewel in its crown is its location. Nestled at the foot of Polambaro and overlooking Parco Nazionale Della Majella, Villa Maieletta offers stunning and uninterrupted views of an ocean of green peppered with woodland, fruit trees and olive groves.
Don’t bother wearing a watch; let the sun and church bells argue amongst themselves and enjoy all that Villa Maieletta has to offer.

We arrived hot and tired from Pescara, but the welcome from Kate and Stephen with cold Prosecco was wonderful.A remote mountain location with magnificent views in all directions ,that can be appreciated from the large bright sun terrace. The spotlessly clean apartments offer every convenience. The nearby pool costing 5€ per person was a refreshing bonus.Nearby local restaurants and shops provided excellent sustenance, however little English is spoken.A hire car is essential plus nerves of steel to negotiate the winding mountain roads! We would thoroughly recommend a holiday at these apartments.

We would certainly recommend both Abruzzo and the Villa Maieletta to anyone planning a holiday in Italy. The villa is located between the mountains and the Adriatic and has views of the mountains and nearby hill top towns.
The village is a 10 minute walk away, with a very well stocked shop run by a charming and helpfull family.
The local restaurant is a 5 minute walk away and must be booked in advance.Make sure you are very hungry and allow plenty of time to enjoy exceptional hospitality.
Our apartment was just right for us,with the bedroom opening onto our own terrace where we could sunbathe or eat breakfast in the morning sunshine. The kitchen was well equipped but we did have to request a toaster. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.including trying to get the Wimbledon mens final live!
Our last night was spent on our terrace taking a glass of wine with Kate and Steven ,all in all, a delightful holiday.

The apartment is beautiful, there are 3 x 1 bed apartments and an individual house also with 1 bed so this complex is ideal for a single traveller, a couple or a group of friends. We have stayed on several occasions and are always well looked after by the owners who live on site and are there to help and advise with your stay. We were house hunting and they were able to share their knowledge with us. The apartment is beautifully furnished in Italian style. The bed is extremely comfortable and the terrace fab for outdoor dining with fab view all around. Spotlessly clean and nice welcome pack with English tea bags, Italian coffee, water in the fridge, wine and nibbles. Perfect.

We had a 2 week holiday in this very peaceful rural location, with mountain views from an extensive sun terrace. The on site owners were very friendly and helpful, to the point of actually taking me to a pharmacist when I was unwell. It's a great base for exploring the Abruzzi countryside, towns, villages, mountainous national parks and extensive coast - all in easy reach. Be prepared for driving on narrow roads with hairpin bends, but they are generally quiet.
The apartment was fairly basic but all equipment and fittings were in good condition. Extra good points were the provision of free washing machine, pool table, beach towels and wi-fi.
