We visited Silver Ridge in October as part of a long weekend away.
The welcome from Claire & Paul is just what you wish all B&B's would be like.
We could not rate Silver Ridge any lower than 5 stars; the room was cozy and comfortable; the breakfast was the best great British Breakfast 'and some'.
When somewhere is this good, you wonder if you should keep it to yourself - but then you would deny others of a treat.
It is somewhere we will be returning to; as our son is in Derby Uni; we can see him, and then enjoy the thought of a great stay at Silver Ridge B&B.

We stayed at Silver Ridge, during a holiday in the Uk, which included 4 days in Tansley. Absolutely lovely place to stay, great location, although we did keep getting lost down the country lanes - but that was part of the fun ! Clare and Paul were excellent hosts, and their yummy breakfasts set us up for the day. Rooms were very comfortable, and spotless. Hopefully we'll be back in two years time.

Room Tip: Either room at the top of the stairs were supurb!

We have just returned from a superb 3 night break at Silver Ridge Bed and Breakfast. The owners, Claire and Paul, were exceptional hosts and the accommodation and hospitality superb! It's in an ideal location for exploring the surrounding Peak District and there's a well stocked 'library' of walking booklets and other information on local attractions. Lovely little touches in the rooms...look out for the 'shoebox' full of useful stuff that you always need but never pack! We will definitely return. 'The Bees', Stockton on Tees.

We spent Friday and Saturday night at Silver Ridge whilst exploring the peak district.
The location is perfect for exploration, beautiful scenery and a 5 minute drive to Matlock. The house is located on the edge of the dales and from here a stunning drive takes you on lovely roads to Chatsworth, Bakewell, Ashford in The Water and numerous points of interest in the South of the Peak District.

The house itself is very welcoming and the gardens really pretty. We were given such a warm and friendly welcome by Claire, Paul and the chocolate labrador which made us feel instantly at home. We booked the Oak family room on the ground floor. The room was beyond our expectations, the decor was stylish, the bed and oak furniture was gorgeous and the room very large with space for a sofa and large coffee table for relaxing. The bathroom was even better, large shower, heated floor, huge bath and a stunning view from the window. The thing that really stood out for me, more than anywhere i have stayed before was how immaculately clean everything was.....i have never seen such a clean bathroom!!

Breakfast was served next to the wood burning stove on even more lovely oak furniture. We went for the full english breakfast which was perfect, beautifully cooked poached eggs and just the right amount of everything. Derbyshire oat cakes included which was a lovely touch. There was plenty of choice for breakfast to suit all tastes including a selection of fresh fruit and cereals. The eggs were from the chickens in the garden.

Claire and Paul were fantastic hosts, they were very knowledgeable about the area and happy to offer suggestions as to where to eat, where to visit and the best driving routes. They were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The thing that impressed us most about Silver Ridge was the little extra touches that they have put in place, whether it be printing out a full days weather report ready for you on your breakfast table each day, the box in each room of useful items you might need during our stay (pen, Sellotape, torch, corkscrew e.t.c) and the hair straighteners mat in the drawer. They have thought of everything.

We will definately be making a return visit to Silver Ridge on our next visit to the Peak District and recommend it highly.

After so many wonderful reviews, wondered if all the hype was true...yes it is! Our family took over the whole B&B by booking up all 3 rooms...not sure if we terrified Claire and Paul as we descended on them! We were treated so well, loved all the little extras and we were well fueled with a hearty breakfast. Location wonderful because it is so quiet and secluded, yet so close to Matlock. Trying to a find a reason to stay there again soon!

Room Tip: All are decent size rooms...but the ground floor family room was humongous!

We stayed here from the 23rd September for 5 nights & absolutely loved it. Very nice breakfast, immaculate rooms, so many thoughtful touches Claire,Paul & George were wonderful hosts. The location was very good for Chatsworth, Haddon & Bakewell but very quiet so great for a good nights sleep. I think the best B & B I have ever stayed in. My husband now thinks all B & Bs are like this..........if only! Thank you so much!!
