Incompetent, unfriendly, avoid by all means. They don't respect clients and agreements. The managment is hiding when you want to discuss the problems. Seems to be the toy of a rich highly selfish owner.

We were cycling thru the region and discovered this beautiful place. Made a quick stop for some ice-creams and booked a table for dinner.
Both during our afternoon visit and the next day for our dinner, the service was friendly, professionnal and welcoming. We had a wonderful time. Apart form the breathtaking views the food was delicious. I had "Fish and Chips" (to compete with the best London Pubs) and my compagnon had the Sea Bass.
After reading the negative comments in this site we are really shocked! THe rooms are beautiful with new flat screens and wifi. Room service snacks are also offered and the services are more those of a 5 star hotel (without paying the 5 star price...) what a great find and bargain!
We found out that the Hotel just opened a SPA as well as a Cigar Lounge!
Thats it! Lausanne Palace no more... this is our new little piece of heaven for now.
Congratulations to all the staff and management! Switzerland needs places like that...

The setting for tis hotel is stunning with the most amazing views across Lake Geneva and the Alps, and the public rooms are well decorated - elegant in the sunshine and cozy in the winter. That however is as good as it gets! The young man who welcomed us was at best dismissive and certainly unhelpful. No one bothered to tell us that we needed a code to re-enter the hotel after 9.30pm and when we asked for an extra pillow, as the flat 1 pillow provided was not enough, we were told that it was probably too late as the housekeeping staff had gone home - and indeed no extra pillows were provided. The breakfast staff was the only person who seemed to care about the guests and the buffet itself was ok . This hotel with some good customer service and care could be outstanding but sadly at the moment it is simply an average hotel with beautiful views.

Room Tip: The terrace rooms have a lovely space with recliner chairs as well as table and chairs.

We had a great stay at the Baron Tavernier in April/May 2012. The hotel is located in the middle of the Lavaux wine region (an Unesco World Heritage site), and has unparalelled of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and the French Alps (across the lake). We found the staff to be exceptional friendly and willing to do just about anything to help our stay (including searching for food one night). We had a great bit deck, with comfy lawn chairs, and of course insane views. I would highly recommend a few nights there. Its a bit pricey, but worth it.

Room Tip: Get the rooms with a deck and view of the lake. You can link the two rooms at the West end of the h...

Perfect for holiday or conference, beautiful setting over the wineyards of Lavaux, this Hotel is a pearl in the area, best view around the whole lake! Staff friendly and helpful. Upgrade has been done (rooms more cosy, 1st class chef in the restaurants) and a new wellness center is under construction. Went with oversee friends, they loved it. The DECK is open and you can enjoy an aperitif in the lounge and a fine dinner in the cosy restaurant. Fish and local specialities, wines from the area! Do not miss this wonderful experience. Better to have a car to get there, good parking facilities at the hotel.

And more specifically, The Desk, open from april to october.

There should be a separate TA entry for the restaurants, really. Because we live more than 1 hour drive away from it and still go there very regularly.

Cuisine : excellent, light and refined. Lake fish superbly (i.e not too~) cooked, fresh exciting salads (yes, a salad can be exciting, especially there), vegetables grilled the italian way, sinful desserts.
Decor : a terrasse, a lounge area and a veranda for those not so beautiful days... Views to die (or kill) for. Unesco world heritage at its best.
Parking facilities : so far, I was always lucky enough to get what seemed the last available spot. Some mistery worth being digged.

A little tip : beg to be seated at.... Oh I would love to display that if only I knew who I would have to murder.
To be seated in the eastern part of the terrasse (past the veranda), under the trees, because the first (western) part of it can get terribly hot in the summer
Santa... did you read that ? I have just been terribly generous. I deserve a helicopter.

For the down sides : booking is definitely compulsory and.... kitchen closes at 1 :30PM ( !). That’s nuts.... so the Swiss CAN be nuts. Excellent news.
