“Wonderbox gift package”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

We just spent the weekend in this delightful hotel after I received a wonderbox giftbox weekend for 2 nights. The hotel is original and quirky and the owner is super friendly and helpful and spoke to us in English, French and Spanish within 5 minutes ! The breakfast is excellent with yoghurt from the local dairy and my husband enjoyed toasting the delicious bread.
The cheese fondue was the best we'd tasted in a long time and the owner kindly made me potatoes for the fondue as a gluten allergy prevents me eating bread.
Would definitely recomment this hotel for summer and skiing in winter.

Sunny location with great views of Les Diablerets village and the glacier (www.diablerets.ch/webcam ,village shows the view from the hotel). 19th century charm, modern comforts. Easy access to hiking trails, nice sun-deck, laid back atmosphere
No restaurant in summer, but there are nice places within walking distance (Auberge de l'Ours in Vers L'Eglise) , in Diablerets village or up in the mountains (try Restaurant Retaud, at the eponymous lake).

Room Tip: Number 10 is the best room and you want mountain view for sure.

Owner is charming with his perfect French English accent, details are impeccable and coffee is not bad.

Nice lounge with tv, piano ... Books lots of books!. The rooms are well decorated and complete of "mountain" details, in season the food is basic and good and if you are lucky enough to have a sunny day .. Lunch on the terrace with the amazing view of the glacier .. It will be a moment to remember

I can only recommend this most charming hotel where you immediately are greeted and feel at home. The rooms and living space are all cosy and well decorated and invite you to lounge and enjoy life.
We only did breakfast there but that in itself is already quite the experience, special note of the prize winning gruyere selection on display.
Go there with your eyes closed you will find only charming hosts and a good atmosphere

The hotel located on a hill, which is difficult to reach by car. People are kind and funny. Great stay!! Real recommendation
The view is great and the rooms are pleasent. The ski slopes are in reasonable distance of the hotel

We had a short stay of 3 nights at Hotel du Pillon to do a ski touring course and its was perfect. The Hotel is superbly renovated and decorated - the atmosphere is relaxed but extremely attractive and I would love to live in such a place. The rooms are very comfortable and the reception and lounge areas are extremely pleasant to sit and relax, chat or simply watch the world go by. The service is very good with a relaxed yet a very willing approach! The evening meals were plentiful, very tasty and frankly giving a real home from home feeling. If you want individuality, this is a very pleasant and warming option both for the winter and summer season. I will definitely go back there - its on my own list of favourite hotels!
