“Always accomodating”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

A solid and reliable "local" restaurant in the Village.

It's family friendly, the service is good, the food consistently solid. The Pizza oven is a nice addition.

Overall always a safe bet.

“A good classic, nice food, efficient service”

Love their pizzas, their salad sauce, the choice of local wines, the kids menus. You really need to book in the winter season, as it is very busy all through the winter.

“It's not a real pizzeria!”
Reviewed 20 April 2013

My husband and I live in Gstaad and decided to try their pizzas and boy were we disappointed!

My husband's a Chef and it doesn't take a Chef to see that the pizza dough is either pre-frozen, or pre-baked before adding the toppings. This made the dough really soggy and the canned vegetable toppings (I.e artichokes, green peppers) didn't help in making the pizza taste any better.

We left the soggy pizzas on the plate and the waitress didn't even bother to ask how our meal was. I guess she simply couldn't be bothered!

56 CHF for 2 pizzas, 2 glasses of wine, 1 bottle of water and 3 dl of Fanta was probably considered 'cheap' for CH. Salad was included but if you consider a bunch of old lettuce leaves edible salad, you're much better off not eating it.

Verdict: Drive the extra few km to Gstaad for an authentic pizza experience at Rialto or Arc en Ciel that uses fresh ingredients and better service! Sanitize the high chairs before putting your child in it. Dirty high chairs should be banned in a restaurant!

“Fast service, good food!”
Reviewed 20 August 2012

We were looking for a light fast meal before the film festival at 8 pm. The place calls itself a pizzeria, so we thought there would also be good pasta dishes. Alas the choices were limited, and all the places on the patio were reserved, but the hostess was very friendly, and efficient, and we ordered an excellent perch filet, with salad and were able to have steamed vegetables instead of french fries. A good meal!

“The very best Pizzas ever”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

I have been going to this restaurant for the last twenty four years (back when it was called The Terminus (as it right opposite the little narrow gauge railway station). All their food is good but their real speciality is Pizza. Forget about the awful things this are often dished up in high street chains. These are the real thing. All hand made and baked in a wood stove that is right in the restaurant so you can watch your pizza being baked. They come out with really thin crisp crusts thick juicy toppings and a size that you will have a struggle to finish.

Remembering that Switzerland is one of the most expensive places on the planet the price is relatively not that bad...last time I ate there (April 2012) they were doing a lunch time special of any pizza and salad for 20 francs (say £14) which for Switzerland is verging on the cheap ....well I said it is a dear country.

The service is typically Swiss, understated but friendly and attentive and the owner or his wife will make a point of coming over to say hello and make sure all is OK.

If you go I bet you will go back.
