“A perfect retreat in the beautiful Loire Valley, amazing place to base yourself to tour this magnificent part of France”
Reviewed 10 May 2017 for a stay in September 2016

With my wife and 3 children we travelled from Brisbane Australia to Italy initially, starting in Rome and driving from Rome through Pisa, Florence, Venice, Yvoire and then to this magnificent spot in the Loire Valley. After all the driving and tours we were looking for a relaxing spot where we could tour the Loire Valley in our own time.
We arrived and were blown away, the photos do not do the place justice. It is sensational, your own private retreat complete with your very own lake. After spending 4 weeks in hotel rooms this was the perfect end to our holiday. We toured the beautiful Chateaux's and towns and really relaxed without any time constraints. FYI, go to Chambord for the day, it's just a short drive away.
The house has everythiing you need and what better way to finish the day than sitting in the afternoon sun watching the kids play in the grounds with a glass or 2 of local Chenin Blanc.

“Amazing!!”
Reviewed 7 May 2017 for a stay in August 2016

Me and my family stayed a week here during the summer holidays. When we arrived we were stunned by how beautiful the lake was, glimmering in the sun. The size was perfect and we had hours of fun adventuring the woodland. We had a lovely time and would definitely reccommend a visit.

“Simply fantastic place to stay with stunning views”
Reviewed 29 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Simply fantastic place to stay with stunning views overlooking its own fishing lake with a terraced patio area. There is a local bakery and St Aignan a short distance away to stock up on provisions and a fantastic vineyard minutes away - Domaine de la Renaudie. which has delicious wine:)
St Aignan also has restaurants however you will need to book up as they get very busy.
Good base for visiting chateaus and zoo parc de Beauval. John is an excellent host and the house is equipped to a high standard and we would not hesitate in staying again and recommending to friends and family.

“A little slice of heaven”
Reviewed 10 August 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed at this property in Easter school holidays and can say we didn't want too leave. The house is home from home. Fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons, comfy lounge with open log fire, spacious bedrooms (3 ground floor) two bathrooms and an extra wc .The setting is so peaceful and tranquil and amazing watching the sunset over the lake with a local glass of wine. The children loved cycling on the local lanes, rowing on the lake and playing in the vast grounds. A car is needed for this property with so much too see on the doorstep. Countless vineyards (I would recommed a visit to Domaine de La Renaudie), Chateauxs,Villages and Towns. A real getaway from it all holiday we will definitly return.

“THIS PLACE IS AMAZING”
Reviewed 4 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed here with my extended family consisting of 3 adults and 5 children aged 4-11 for the last week in July.

Upon arrival I was bowled over by the amazing views over the grounds especially the beautiful lake and woodland.

The House itself was amazing with a great open living space downstairs and plenty of space to sleep the kids.

The main bedroom upstairs opens onto a balcony with more fantastic views and the other main bedroom downstairs had a large en-suite with a bath.

There is a rowing boat to use for the lake which the kids really loved and spent ages exploring the huge lake.

This was a great base to explore all the beautiful chateaux's including the amazing Chambord.

The local town of Saint Aignan had a river with a beach area which again was perfect for the kids.

Overall it was an amazing experience and we have contacted them to rebook again for next year.

We stayed in May half term, what a fabulous location, with stunning scenery. Close to the local village a short drive away for groceries etc, with the beauty of the Loire Valley and fabulous Chateaux s close by. We could not fault the accommodation and the stunning grounds the property is set in. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday to get away from it all this is the place to stay, feels like a home from home. Would thoroughly recommend
