This place is amazing, we have visited on three occasions now and each time was a joy. The menu is updated regularly and always has some interesting offers. The food tastes incredible, delicious flavours even in something as simple as a cauliflower soup. Service is impeccable, friendly and just right - no rushing you out etc. They make you feel relaxed and welcome. It's also a pretty spot so make a trip to visit if you are even close by, it's worth it.

Big city style fine dinning in idyllic country village.

Scallops were done PERFECTLY. And the crème brulee was fantastic.

Local food served, with skill

Superb bistro run by husband and wife team of Henry in the kitchen and Stephanie front of house serving inventive cooking of well sourced food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Great beef , venison , pheasant dishes. The creme brulee and fig and almond tart were fantastic . Interesting well priced wine list with a good selection of regional French wines from excellent domaines.
Good value at €33.50 for lunch.
Need to book Sunday lunch well in advance.
Worth the 1.3 hour drive from Dublin through lovely Wicklow and Carlow countryside to the charming little village of Clonegal

Small romantic restaurant with a lovely personal service. Menu offers specialist foods sourced from local quality suppliers. What you would expect of a Michelin star restaurant. Dinner menu is expensive but worth it. Extensive wine list. There is a beautiful sitting room with open fire which is superb for a gin & tonic before dinner. Build in enough time in your schedule to enjoy this before eating. Next time I go back I am going to book the chefs table in the kitchen which offers a special menu and interaction with chef as he prepares your food. Very expensive but good for special occasion.
