“Trilogy of WWI Plays”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Fantastic day had on Monday 4th. The museum is a treasure trove and wealth of knowledge. The volunteers that work there are great and help with all they can. There was a commemorative day on Monday for WWI and a trilogy of plays on WWI was on offer. It was great to gain insight to the war through these evocative plays. Playwrights Irene Kane, Siobhan Harte and John MacKenna put on 3 great plays depicting the war from the point of view of a soldier, the nurses and an army chaplain. Well done to all, an absolutely brilliant experience.

“A treasure trove of military history”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

This museum is very unique its run by volunteers with a great knowledge of the stories and items shown . It is set in an old church which in itself is intriguing the displays for the most part are very accessible and tactile unlike other places where everything is behind glass and off limits its great for kids and the volunteers are very happy to show the items up close all the displays have a carlow connection with some fasinating stories behind them a real treasure trove and well worth a visit

“An Interesting Insight into Carlow's military past”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

The Military museum is open on weekends at certain times of the month, so it's got to be a planned visit if you want to see it. But if you do you'll be capitvated by the millitary pariphinalia linked to Carlow and conflicts over the centuries so it's well worth a trip.

“A Snapshot of the Past”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

A great alternative on a rainy Sunday. It's not what you expect - its lively and you can try on uniforms from the past. Run and maintained by passionate volunteers on the grounds of the Carlow District Hospital you will have a very entertaining afternoon. The collection of different uniforms and artefacts from about 800 years of history is very impressive. Not only can you look at the various items, you even can try them out. Great fun for Children and Adults alike
