This 'hotel' was really querky and is not the place to stay if you don't like bugs or animals, however, it was a fantastic place to stay to experience sleeping surrounded by the rainforest and the noise of the wildlife and to be able to watch the animals from your balcony and bed.
The tents are all individually set in the rainforest and built on permanent platforms. Ours had one comfy kingsized bed but some others had two beds. The tents all have electricity and lighting and have a solidly build bathroom and storage area where you can lock your kit, this area also contains a safe.
The staff were all extremely helpfull and friendly.
The onsite activities, we did the rafting and the zip lining, were great fun, very well organised and safe with knowledgeable staff.
Great walks available through the onsite rainforest where you could spot plenty of wildlife.
The only downsides were the cold showers, we tried to get hot water at several times of the day and evening but didn't suceed and the buffet style evening meals with a limited choice.
Had we been able to have hot showers I would have given this a 5 star rating as it provides a unique experience.

The tented accommodation was awesome, but - it is a tent in the rainforest - so if you're expecting a bug-free atmosphere, rather stick to the cities! The adventure activities were excellent and the staff at the main house were excellent. As I was traveling with a group of students - I can highly recommend this outfit as perfect for large groups. I will never forget the sounds of the rain beating on the tent with every insect in the jungle striving to be heard over the storm. A place I will never forget.

This place offers tent suites. Sounds weird, but it means permanent tents on wooden platforms with (very basic, but functional) bathrooms and toilets in an en-suite cabin next to the tent. The suites are well separated so you do get reasonable privacy even though the humidity will guarantee that you leave the tent flaps open at night.

If that sounds heaven, then this is the place for you. If not, it will be hell. It's your choice, but the thing to bear in mind is that this isn't really a jungle location - it's actually the very edge of the jungle. Your view is over the car park and a field. Access to the site is down a rocky road through a local area with low income housing with people repairing their cars on the street (nothing wrong with that, nor any 'bad vibes' in the area, but it isn't an isolated paradise). The forest round the suites is the very edge of the jungle and so the wildlife is pretty limited though there are plenty of insects ( including mosquitos) to give you the sound of the jungle.

So, decide if this what you want, but, if it is, bear in mind it's not the idyllic or 'authentic jungle' setting that you might imagine.

We didn't stay at the hotel, as we didn't know they had lodging, but will have to give it a try next time because we had a blast!

Our activities were set up by our hotel in San Jose including transportation and the trip also included breakfast and lunch at the Pozo Azul facilities.

We had a great time. My wife and I chose rapelling in the morning then white water rafting in the afternoon. My wife is not quite as adventurous as I am although she grew up a tomboy and getting her to rappel down a 90 foot jungle wall was almost too much. But, the guides (Esteban and the others) were excellent! She gingerly got down the first time and I could tell she was nervous, but she did a bit better the next time and on the 3rd try, it hit her that this was fun! There's so much safety involved that there's nothing to worry about with all the redundant systems. You could let go and you're not going to fall! The guys both above and below the ropes have you at all times and you really don't need to do much more than let yourself down which requires a minimum of strength. Once she realized that, she ran right up and did it a 4th time and laughed all the way! I think the most arduous part was running and climbing back up the footpath from the river back to the top to do it again!

After a great lunch, we got to change clothes (they have lockers and showers for you) and went white water rafting. Class 2 and 3 rapids in a big inflatable with 4-6 others and the guides and it was one of the highlights of our 2 weeks in Costa Rica that already had a ton of adventures. James was our guide and he was super. Get ready to get soaked and laugh your head off. The water isn't cold and it's like a 13 mile roller coast ride as you go through the jungle...at times calm and serene then you hit the white water and real fun begins! Not much strength or coordination required. We're pretty outdoorsy types, but it wasn't strenuous nor did it feel dangerous at any times plus there's tons of safey features and a kayak support that follows along. We stopped mid-way on the trip for fresh pineapple and a jump off the little cliffs to go swimming too. At the end, we were all yelling "Let's go again! Take us back up to the start!"

We'll be back!

Room Tip: Dress for the type of activity you choose! They have horse back riding, zip lining and other activi...

It was a real experience to sleep in the jungle in a tent.
They call it tentsuites. The tents are build on a big wooden surface.
You have a big terrace with seats. You have your own bathroom.
And in a tent you are one with the nature. You hear clearly the sound
of the jungle.

WE drove here from Peace Lodge to spend the day horseback riding and white water rafting. I would highly recommend these! Horses were well kept and listened nicely to commands, not the typical trail horses I have found in the states! The ride was diverse as to scenery and I enjoyed it very much. Those that wished to were allowed to gallop across the field at the end which was nice. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy! Luis & Victor were great!
The whitewater rafting trip was fun and had decent rapids. A stop for fresh pineaplle snack and a jump off the cliff into the river was a nice break.
I would have given it 5 stars but didn't bcause the lunch was just OK although the view of the river on the deck was lovely.

We didn't actually stay in the accommodation, but used the centre for it's activities. We did the canopy tour zipping through the rain forest, the guides were great, very safe and also knowledgeable about the wildlife. We saw howler monkeys on the tour.

Next we did the white water rafting, there hadn't been a lot of rain and the river was quite low, the grading was supposed to be a III, but with this amount of water I would say it was closer to a II. The trip took around 1.5 hours, but can be quite a lot faster when the river is higher.

We also stayed for lunch, compared to meals we had included in our other activities the food was very good, but I wouldn't make it the main reason for coming here.

Would definitely recommend this centre for the activities.
