Let's start with we made a reservation 1 week ahead when we did the reservation no one told us that you can bring food we get there with all the family we have a 5 month old baby and an 80 year old senior citizen the staff was very rude so we asked to speak to some type of manager apparently the owner comes out and this guy was worse very very very rude after we have reservation pretty much kicked us out and told us that if we would not eating in his restaurant we cannot stay there and that if we wanted to go to see the waterfall we would have to pay $10 to get there and $10 to come back in this hotel there is no customer service it's the worst I've seen in Costa Rica this guy turned away pretty much kicked us out of his hotel 12 reservations because we were bringing snacks to eat in the hotel I'm surprised he didn't say we needed to buy the baby's formula from his hotel 2 just to let everybody know tell if you have and big family and you're on vacation do not go to this hotel and if you do you can even bring a bottle of water if you didn't buy it from them todo monopoly

We stayed here 2 nights - many problems with this place. The hotel was lacking basic necessities - hot water, telephone, cell phone connection, television, access to a computer. We could not control the temperature in the room -It was very cold and there was 1 sheet and 1 unwashed comfort. The food made 7 of the 12 in our tour group sick. Our bus could not approach the property, so we had to hike across a narrow suspension bridge with our carry-on luggage. The facility may have been nice many years ago, but not now. It was run-down and shabby. Please heed warning and stay away!

Room Tip: The location was awful - it seemed to take 45 minutes to get to a paved road.

We stayed here 2 nights with a Perillo tour and were disappointed with the hotel. Not only is it difficult to get to, it is also far from other towns and activities. Walking over the swaying bridge was an experience. The room offered no amenities, not even a clock. The air conditioner worked erratically and the room did not seem very clean, as witnessed by white socks which were dingy after we walked on the tile. The prices for drinks at the bar and restaurant varied, almost as if the staff charged what they wanted to. The grounds are attractive, though, and the staff was friendly. This is not a place I would revisit, however.

we were on a PERILLO GROUP PRE-ARRANGED TOUR that promotes quality!! and we ended up at this place on our 2nd nite. we had no hot water for 2 nites[large nice shower area], camp like rustic accomodations. ac system that could not be controlled, flimsy bedding, holes in the spreads. certainly no quality. i will say the staff were lovely and tried to do their best. no phones,[no cell phone service] no tvs in rooms the one tv in common area was not functioning until the second nite .wifi did work. for early breakfast one morning we found ham and cheese sanwuiches left on the table for you to collect. coffee only was available. our bus could not access THE APPROACH ROAD so we had to march over a swaying suspension bridge. dimly lit uneven pathways welcomed you. wake up call was somone banging on your door never again!!!!

Room Tip: do not stay here unless you prefer camp like setting i viewed the reviews and can't believe we were at the same place never saw any of the beautful areAs in the pictures

Every morning when I wake up at Sueno Azul I think: "Another day in paradise". You hear amazing nature sounds while lying in bed, once you get up you have the most beautiful view from your back porch. The rooms are comfortable and very clean and so are the bathrooms with windows and spacious showers.
The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is excellent!
This year was my fifth time at Sueno Azul and I will go back for sure next year!
