Cannot say a bad word about this place!! From the moment we arrived Salvatore and his family couldn't do enough for us! We were made to feel more welcome and more at home than I ever have done anywhere! On arrival we were greated with homemade cake, home made wine, fresh olives and breathtaking views (arguably the best on the Amalfi Coast) and from then on we were made to feel like royalty as we indulged in a king-sized breakfast on the terrace looking down onto Positano and drank homemade wine on our huge balcony watching the sun set behind the mountains and the huge natural stone arch! This place is the best deal you will ever get the beauty of its setting and the kindness of the hosts is priceless! Le Ghiande is pure luxury on a not so luxurious budget.

We spent a wonderful four nights at Le Ghiande. While the 100 + steps up to the B & B can be a bit daunting, the assistance from Marco with the suitcases, and the welcome received at the top of the hill quickly made us forget the climb. Salvatore is a most gracious host who has his guests' comfort and pleasure in mind at all times. He is a great source of information about places to go and wonderful restaurants in the area.

Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, a kitchenette with a stocked fridge, and a private balcony overlooking the stunning view of the harbour at Positano. The room was spotless, and the bathroom facilities were excellent, right down to a powerful hair dryer and lovely towels.

Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the harbour. There was ample food including homemade cakes and jams, orange juice, coffee, croissants, fruit and yogurt. It was a beautiful start to every day.

The highlight of our stay was Salvatore's invitation to join his family for Saturday dinner. It was a great feast with so many wonderful dishes that I couldn't begin to describe them all. We were so pleased to be included in this gathering and felt most welcome. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay at Le Ghiande.

We were actually looking for a place to stay in Positano, but we were lucky because everything was either booked or way over our budget!

And so we called Le Ghiande the night before and booked two nights. It was a great experience- the setting is unbelievable with a great view of Positano and the coast.

We were welcomed by Salvatores two cousins down on the road and they told us where to park. Then took our luggage and brought them up directly to our room. Up on the terrace we were welcomed by Salvatore with coffee and juice.

Everything was great – nice room pretty much with the same view as the terrace.

Getting around is easy – we walked down to Positano the first day – 1400 steps, but beyond that we took the local bus that runs every hour.

Overall – an exceptional experience – we would recommend La Ghiande to anyone without any hesitation.

Our stay at Le Ghiande was undoubtedly the most personal connection to Italy of our entire trip. From Salvatore and Marco's warm welcome, refreshments on the terrace, beautiful views from our own private terrace, and the recommendation for Il Ritrovo restaurant, it was absolutely wonderful. Salvatore even parked our car for us in a split second to within a half inch of the rock wall!
The room was lovely, large, quiet, and spotless, with a large terrace overlooking Positano and out to the ocean, as well as right through 'the hole' in the mountain. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious, with homemade cherry and lemon preserves.
Salvatore was very personable, and offered lots of local perspective- the perfect host!
One regret- that we only stayed one night- we'll be back Salvatore!

Thank you to those who wrote tripadvisor reviews which led my husband and me to this amazing B&B. I wish I had the word skills to adequately capture our Le Ghiande experience!

Beginning with the welcome, as we were invited to relax on the delightful terrace with beverages and homemade cake, Salvatore was for us the perfect host... gracious, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and respectful of privacy. During our three night stay, he helpfully provided (in fluent English) accurate information on regional places of interest and local transportation; great suggestions on nearby restaurants; and guidance in planning day trips--especially when we were unrealistic in how much could be accomplished in a day.  Le Ghiande provided assistance in so many other ways...driving us to an ATM in Positano; helping us with our new cell phone; driving us to the restaurant in Nocelle--our favorite of this visit.

Our room (and all of the B&B) was very spacious, comfortable, quiet, beautifully maintained and immaculate.  There was great attention to detail in both the charming decor and the amenities provided such as the clothes drying rack (especially helpful for those of us who pack light) and the stocked kitchen in our room.  Plus, there was our large private terrace with stunning and romantic views of the gardens, coast and mountains!

Our one regret is that we had not scheduled more time at Le Ghiande.  This is the first lodging which has ever tempted me to forget about “seeing the sites” in order to appreciate and enjoy the lodging… the view from both the terrace surrounded by gardens, lemon trees and grape vines and from our private terrace...to linger on the terrace over a tranquil, delicious and generous breakfast...the sound of distant church bells...magical.

We are in our 60’s and didn’t find the 100+ steps to the B&B an issue (especially since Le Ghiande carried our luggage to and from the car) and we enjoyed the evening strolls to and from the restaurants in Montepertuso.

Le Ghiande is a fantastic value.

This is a wonderful B&B in a picturesque setting high above Positano with incredible views.
Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by Salvatore and Regina who offered us refreshments on the lovely terrace while telling us about the area. They made us feel so welcome and our entire stay was very enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying here.
Salvatore, the owner has completely updated the facilities and surrounding grounds beautifully. Our spacious room was tastefully furnished, had a kitchenette and a large terrace with a beautiful view.
The B&B is close to Positano, but you feel miles away in this tranquil setting. There are several great hiking paths which connect Montepertuso to other small villages… Nocelle, Bomerano, and Praiano. “The Path of the Gods” is absolutely breathtaking.

First let me tell you, the 90 steps you take when you arrive and up with your bags, you think, what the heck am I doing here, but once you are greeted by Salvatore the owner, and walk thru the property you realize you have arrived in Heaven!!! This place is better than any 5 star property I have ever stayed, the views are amazing, the room was super comfortable with amazing views and a private terrace, super peaceful and tranquil. On top of that, you have Salvatore and his cousin Marco that are the best, super attentive, go out of his way to assist you and make you feel at home, we were even treated on our last night to a family dinner that I will never forget in my life, made us feel like family and was the best food of my 3 week trip, Salvatore, you are blessed with a beatiful family, a great business/property and amazing heart....stay well and I truly hope sometime I will be able to come back to such special place!!!!!!!!!
