“Magical evening - excellent food and service!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

There are a number of great restaurants in Montepertuso and all send shuttles down to pick guests up at their hotels and take them back - what sets this one apart is not only that it has an exquisite view, but the service is just SO amazing! They welcome you and treat you like you are long lost relatives - they could not have been any kinder or more attentive and the food was absolutely excellent - so fresh and delicious!!! We drank limoncello every night for 10 days at various restaurants and at some of the finest hotels on the Amalfi Coast and the 8 of us who were traveling together all agreed that the Limoncello at THIS restaurant was by far, the BEST! We were offered champagne upon arrival and limoncello with dessert and they took in all of our guests' dietary issues and were happy to make sure everyone had what he or she needed. The manager serenaded us with his sax after dinner and one of the waitresses sang - it was great - really special and you could just tell they put their hearts into everything they did. Meals are such an expression of love in Southern Italy and that is what makes the food so extra yummy - truly an amazing and memorable dinner - we can't wait to return! Also, I would add that many of the locals told us that La Terra was the best of the restaurants in Montepertuso and when the locals say that, it really means something.

“Wonderful Experience!”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We were told of this restaurant by a couple we had hiked with at the Path of the Gods. We had our hotel reserve a table for us and we were delighted when we were picked up at our hotel by a very friendly and gracious driver. We were early for most of the patrons eat at a later time in Italy. This added to our delight as we were treated with more than our share of attention. The food was fresh and delicious as expected and the service was wonderful! We loved the whole experience, from the owner hand delivering our meals to the singing and musical arrangement, to the crowd who seemed to appreciate this great experience as much as we did. We can't say enough about this place, including every other restaurant in positano and the surrounding area. I just wish we could visit more often. I miss the fresh food, the gracious people, and the beautiful surroundings. This piece of Heaven, Positano and surronding area, is something to always remember and appreciate!

“A meal in the clouds”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was recommended by our very helpful driver. It is a very long and at times scary ride up to La Terra which is set very high up above Positano. It wasn't the very capable driver of the free shuttle, Salvatore, from the restaurant but the roads and other drivers that made it scary! We were welcomed by the owner, Francesco and his staff . He quickly seated us by a window with what would have been a fabulous view if it hadn't been for the huge storm over the bay of Salerno on the day that we visited. Our starters were very tasty and generous , the pasta was also delicious. The main course was disappointing, and the dessert was very good . We came away from the meal feeling very full and felt that the atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit flat. This could have been because it was a Thursday night. The trip back down the mountain gave us some wonderful moonlit views of Positano and the the bay of Salerno. If you want to use the free shuttle it is important that you make your booking with La Terra yourself and ask for the shuttle to fetch you otherwise you hotel will order a taxi.

“Brilliant food, service, portions and breathtaking views”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

From the free shuttle that picks you up fro. Your hotel to the journey home, everything is amazing. Okay so the shuttle ride up through the windy roads is a little hair raising... But when you arrive at the restaurant you have the warmest welcome, a complimentary small glass of fizz. The portins are huge, the pasta is some of the best we've ever eaten. We were too full for pudding, but looking around at other tables, they looked amazing.
The service is homely and friendly.
They even have an amazingly talented waiter and waitress who suddenly break into song and saxophone. It's just brilliant. And very reasonably priced.
So pleased we went.

“Our best meal in Positano”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We've been to quite a few of the top-rated restaurants in Positano and thought that La Terra was the best out of them. Easy to book a table and within 15 minutes the free shuttle was picking us up in Positano. We arrived early so the service was quick and efficient (it probably gets slower when the dining room is full). We had tuna carpaccio and squids as appetizers, then the sea food risotto, scaloppini and nodini as main dishes - everything was simply perfect. We highly recommend La Terra.
