After a visit to the Lipica Horse Farm, it was time for lunch and we went looking for the well recommended Gostilna Muha in Lokev. We arrived at 12:30 to a packed house. We were told that there was no room since it was a holiday (the day after Easter). We pressed them to see if we might squeeze in for a quick lunch. They said that there might be a table in half and hour. We decided to wait and stood at the bar for a glass of malvaysia. Our host Muha Andrej, whose family has been running this place for 300 years, brought us some starters. This began one of the best lunches we have ever had. This included a cabbage and bean soup, homemade fettucini with wild mushrooms, and slowly roasted lamb shank. Incredible meal...well worth seeking this place out if you are in the area.
