A sexy, relaxed atmosphere!! Perfect for our 18th wedding anniversary. Our kids also had a wonderful time. the people there were so helpful with making their favorite meals at all times of day and between the beautiful beach, pool and sea front cliff trails with a "secret pool" that was cut into the rock generations ago that they were captivated.

Room Tip: sea front views are stunning. we had ground floor room at sea front which made it easy if some of ou...

I give this resort one star for its location. Beautiful and right on the ocean. Other than that, it was awful. The service was terrible, especially in the restaurant. No one ever acknowledged us and when we asked for something, each time the servers rolled their eyes at us. The rooms were alright, not very clean. The food and drinks were acceptable at best, but quite expensive. Would not recommend which is too bad since the view is amazing.

We like to stay in 'small and friendly' hotels and on this Silver Point delvers perfectly. I would say it is a little overpriced for what you get though as the photos show an ultra modern, pristine property but in reality it's a little worn around the edges. We had asked for a hotel that wouldn't be full of children but unfortunately the small pool was usually filled by members and guests children so not much room for anyone else, no ones fault really but considering the sea/beach use this became more of an issue: My biggest tip for possible future users is that the beach (as seen in the photos) is almost exclusively for the use of Kite Surfers - this isn't official but you can barely move (in April at least) for kites all over the beach crashing into people or the lines tripping you up or garrotting your throat! If you enjoy a peaceful beach, this is not the place for you! The staff are all helpful and friendly and there's plenty to do in the area as other reviews have seem to agree. The food in the restaurant is great if may be a little limited in its choice. Our biggest gripe here was having to repeat our room number every time we took a table, ordered a drink or food, asked for the bill or payed the bill meaning on average you are stating your room number about 20 times per day - may be a better system can be placed or just a little more trust?! Our room was upgraded and we looked out to the ocean, which was nice, but the entrance of the room looked to the back area of the hotel so some rusting old fridges and air-con unit with broken furniture lying around...lovely. The pile of Air-con units may be slightly larger soon too as the one in our room blew cold air to within about 12 inches of the unit and no further. So the hotel is Okay, but not brilliant, the Location is nice but not perfect (beach - wise) and the restaurant and service is good but not fantastic, overall I would say it is not good value for money.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are nice but very noisy from the crashing sea waves (and it is crashing not gentle...

I chose this hotel because it was economically priced and close to the airport and not too far from restaurants etc:

Pros: 15 minutes by taxi from both airport and St Lawrence Gap, friendly staff at reception

Cons: room was very tired and shabby - dirty marks on the wall, rusty metal fixtures and fittings. Toilet had cistern issues, smell of drains on pathway to pool, and the pool area and cabanas weren't kept particularly tidy. Glasses and bottles from previous occupants weren't cleared away etc.

The brochure pictures and images on the Virgin Holidays website made the decor look quite trendy and clean but in reality the place just had a tired look with several rooms boarded up. I left wishing I had booked somewhere like the Rostrevor which was the same price and walking distance from St Lawrence Gap.

I loved Barbados but would spend my money at other places to stay in future!

We stayed here for 3 nights, 1 which was our wedding night. I don't have anything bad to say about the hotel or its staff!! As soon as we arrived, which was very early they were extremely accommodating! We were getting picked up by a catamaran shuttle so we needed to leave our luggage (surfboards, bags, etc!) and they were more than happy to take care of it :) When we returned they had put all of our things in our room! Very helpful after a long day out on a catamaran!

The restaurant was very good! The staff was awesome and always welcomed us with a warm smile! The views were amazing and it was nice to watch the kitesurfers from our table along with the occasional turtle!

Knowing it was our wedding day they went above and beyond and even left us a bottle of champagne in our room with glasses. Very sweet of them!

The room was gorgeous! We stayed in 1 of their ocean front rooms. Very well worth the price! I loved waking up to the gorgeous view and the bed was comfortable! We didn't take advantage of the pool or the relaxing looking sun beds unfortunately but they looked amazing! Would love to stay here again!

Accommodation, setting, staff all really good. As first timers to Barbados we booked here because of convenient distance from airport. Restaurant food good and reasonable cost- especially enjoyed the open air aspect where we could enjoy the windsurfers zoom past.
Directly on the superb looking beach which was dominated by windsurfers and their equipment.. However, hotel has sun loungers and cabanas on the sun deck which overlooks the beach.
On site shop very limited for anyone self catering and local mini market within 5-10 minute walk was also limited. Fresh fruit and vegetables were just not available to buy. Advice would be to stop off at larger supermarket called Emerald City on the way from airport and stock up with staples.( Range of products and prices equal to UK.) We even saw Tesco branded products on the shelves.
Normally we stick to bottled water abroad but no need in Barbados- water is pure and safe to drink.
We had been anxious about problem with mosquitoes but it is so pleasantly breezy at Silver Point that we did not have one bite ! Mosquitoes are poor fliers we hear so that, coupled with normal precautions such as repellent and plug ins for the room, kept us safe. There had been online reports of incidences of Dengue fever caused by mosquitoes but we were fine and we stayed in two other resorts during our three weeks in Barbados- The Crane and a villa at Vuemont.
Barbados is beautiful , weather is marvellous in February March. Some housing for Bajan locals is quite run down and the roads have few signposts so watch out if driving yourselves around.
Overall a wonderful memorable holiday which began so well at Silver Point.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms will give best aspect. Some rooms overlook hotel car park.

We went here as a friend was getting married nearby and wanted some time alone and some time with friends at a neighboring resort.

A quick trip through the local streets will have you at the hotel in no time from the airport. Upon arrival to the car park you are assisted by helpful staff to the reception area - where again they are welcoming and wonderful.

The rooms are actually quite basic, but I guess you really just want a clean room with a comfortable bed. The only real downside to the rooms as they are not that sound proof so you can hear and be heard by other people on vacation. Also if you are worried about your belongings, camera passports money etc, the safe does not really allow you to store your items. very small and very shallow - our large camera and out laptop 14" would not fit in it.

The resort itself is nice and in a great location on the beach - a beach full of kite surfers so amazing to watch, but a little dangerous if you are playing in the waves. The shop is open from I think 10am to 6pm and has general products so good.

The restaurant is not bad, but be ready for a long wait. I am based in NY so am spoiled by service to a degree and i understand island time, but 10 minutes to be served, a further 10 minutes for coffee and toast when 3 people in the place is a little ridiculous.

Barbados is far more expensive than i thought - it is actually NYC prices for food and drinks and not as good I have to say. I have paid that before in Belieze, but at least it is on par if not better than a standard restaurant in NYC.

I must stop comparing and take it for what it is!
