Description: YOUR CASUAL FINE DINING DESTINATION NOW WELL OVER A DECADE IN BUSINESS, EDDINGTON'S ATTRIBUTES THE RESTAURANT'S SUCCESS TO CREATING FLAVOURFUL AND CREATIVE MEALS CONSISTENTLY USING THE BEST OF HURON COUNTY'S BOUNTY. Owner James Eddington states "we are so blessed to be living in such an agriculturally rich area of the world". Although the local food movement is really starting to take off, it has always been the driving force in Eddington's kitchen. A menu that changes frequently, as each season inspires the delicacies our region has to offer. Eddington's occupies the original Carling homestead (built in the 1870s). After two major renovations, an addition of a new dining room and a serene outdoor backyard summer patio, the restaurant has a clean and modern look while maintaining its traditional and warm feel.

We stopped by here for supper on the recommendation of a friend and had the hamburger for supper. This is not a run-of-the-mill hamburger but a beautifully seasoned and cooked item. Served on an egg bun with a side of sweet potato fries it is an excellent casual supper. As an appetizer I had the hot pepper bisque and my wife had the corn chowder. Both of these were amazing. The restaurant is nicely furnished and does offer a fine dining experience. The chef strives, and succeeds, at using fresh ingredients and presenting the meal in an appetizing manner. The serve is attentive, but not intrusive - exactly what service should be. When we return we will try something a little more "upscale" than a hamburger! A very good dining experience.

Family of 6 adults met at Eddington's for gourmet pizza night Thursday August 14th and to celebrate 2 birthdays and 1 anniversary. Eddington's had three different featured pizzas, a feature beer and a number of feature wines. All of which were very reasonably priced. Three of us indulged in the smoked salmon, carmelized onions and roasted red pepper gourmet thin crust pizza. It was a party in your mouth with all the flavours blending together.

At the end of the evening, upon presentation of a birthday coupon, they treated us to a "sparkling" dessert brownie, compliments of the restaurant.

Thank you James and staff for yet another wonderful evening!!! We will be back.

Eddington's of Exeter is an oasis of fine dining in the Bluewater region of Southwest Ontario.
The first page of the menu lists over 20 local suppliers, everything from fruit, vegetables, pork, poultry, and beef. The freshness shows, as owner/chef Jeff Eddington uses all of his skills to maximize the fresh ingredients.
On our visit we opted for the chicken and the pork-two dishes that we love, but never order out. Both dishes were outstanding. The meat was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were not mere accompaniments, they were perfect. Screaming freshness. The sauce married the meat with the vegetables. A perfect union.
We were completely blown away, and look forward to our next visit. Too bad that we're over 300 miles away.

We had a "special" night out planned and were excited to make reservations out on the patio @ Eddington's. The perch was absolutely excellent - marred only by the fact we couldn't even "visit" while enjoying our dinner, due to the very loud singer. While her voice was fine, simply re-directing the speakers away from our heads might have helped.
While we were not in a hurry, per se, we found the service to be extremely slow & staffing could have been more prepared in anticipation of a busy Friday night,

Thank you for taking the time to review. It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your meal. The music was to loud both in your and my opinion, we are currently working with the musicians and changing the set up of speakers and tweaking the volume to a more comforting level. We apologize for the speed of service and will be more focused, without the volume in the future. Cheers. James Eddington
