Fab place to go on a solo walk or with other. The main paths have been covered with new asphalt and hence very clean to walk.loads of other paths to take if you want to be a bit more adventurous. Dog loves going up there

Blackleach Country Park is located between Walkden and Farnworth, and is primarily an award winning Nature Reserve...

It was opened back in 2004 and holds the Green Flag award... Blackleach is a hidden gem, set back from a busy road, that offers the ideal place to relax and see nature up close... it is a great place to enjoy the countryside and local wildlife, whether it be simply feeding the ducks, geese, and swans, or alternatively fishing, riding a bike, orienteering/running, walking your dog, or just enjoying a scenic picnic...

The reservoir offers the chance to see Moorhens, Tufted Ducks, Coots, Cormorants, Herons, Geese, Swans, and more... the paths around the lake and woodland area also offer the chance to stop and try to catch a glimpse of the many types of birds this peaceful haven has to offer... there are several seats to take a break as you walk around the park and most of the pathways have recently been made all weather safe but a few still get a bit muddy if it rains so you may need boots or wellies...

The Visitor Centre at Blackleach Country Park is staffed by the Salford Ranger Team with support from a 'friends of Blackleach locals group' who both provide outdoor events and activities for visitors, schools, and community groups to enjoy...

The Visitor Centre opening times vary but can be checked by phoning 0161 790 7746 but the park itself is free and open 24 hours daily...

My family regularly go for walks here to relax and see the wildlife this idyllic nature reserve has throughout the year... we recommend you go and see for yourself... well worth a visit and it is free!
