Description: Grenache has been open for 5 years, One under the new management of Mike & Karen. Grenache is an intimate 34 cover restaurant in the suburbs of Salford and proud! We were awarded with 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence in March 2014 and a further recommendation for excellence in the Michelin Guide in 2015. We beat off stiff competition to win The Good Food Guide's Best North West Restaurant Award in 2013. Not only do we serve fantastic food but we also pride ourselves on our level of service. We offer an Early Market Menu, available all evening, Wednesday & Thursday, and until 6.00Pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We also offer a 'blind' tasting menu which is excellent value for seven courses at only £49.50 Per head.

I eat with my eyes and pay a great deal of attention to cutlery and glasses. Well presented food and good wine in nice glasses is usually top of my list when recommending a restaurant. Grenache restaurant ticks all the boxes for me. The taster menu was a real treat for me and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not usually a merlot drinker but they stock a perfect one to accompany red meats and it's fabulous.
The staff are really friendly and explain in detail what's being served. If they are unsure about an ingredient they ask the chef. Nothing is too much trouble.
A really nice touch is the chef, Mike, coming out at the end of the night and talking to the customers to get feedback. How best to know that you're running a successful eatery than to actually ask personally.
You must reserve as it's always busy. Go early and have a drink upstairs in the lounge bar. It really sets the meal off nicely. You aren't rushed in any event but it has a nice feel to it.
If there's anything you don't like just let the staff know and Mike will work round you.

I visited Grenache with friends on Saturday evening and it was the first time returning to the restaurant since the new owners took over. Just wanted to say we had a fabulous evening, the food, service and surroundings were outstanding in presentation and quality and the staff were a credit to the restaurant.

This is the first time we have visited the Grenache since the new owners took over and they have made a major difference which means we will be returning again. The food is, as previous visits, excellent both in quality and presentation. However the main difference we found was the service which has improved 100% since the last time we visited. The new owners have "trained" the staff to be attentive and personal without being "over friendly" which is how we remember our last visit.
Definately a big city restaurant in Walkden, highly recommended.

Me and my partner were in Manchester for a long weekend and decided on the Grenache Restaurant for a meal. We were quite interested in the 7 course taster menu as it was something different. We arrived early and were welcomed to the bar for cocktails and a look at the menu. Once our table was ready we were taken down to the main area to eat. It was very nice, clean and inviting. Although the lighting could have been dimmed later in the evening. The waiting staff were wonderful and very attentive, from helping us choose a rose wine to describing each of the 7 courses in great detail. The food was the best I have tasted in a long time. This ranged from freshly baked bread, mushroom cappuccinos, lamb, duck and goats cheese cheesecake!! Overall we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking to be treated special and have some really nice fresh food. Highlight of the evening was the chef, Mike, coming out of the kitchen to speak to each of the tables. This was a little extra you dont usually get in other restaurants. Look forward to going back again soon :)

We recently went Grenache to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary and this is the first time we have been back since the previous owner left. The decor seemed brighter and initially we were put on a corner table which we felt hemmed in and when we asked to move to a different table it was no bother. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was timely without being rushed. But it was the food we were there for and it didn't disappoint, every course was wonderfully presented and tasted superb. The surprise lobster taster was a wonderful gesture.

To consider Grenache is located in Walkden rather than the big city centre is unbelievable and chef Mike and Karen deserve our support. We can highly recommend this restaurant and will return again for the fine dining experience.

Regards
Ian & Tracey
