Living locally this is the first pub I choose for lunch or dinner as it is by far one of the best pubs in the area. The food is truly outstanding - we often visit at lunch and their menu is varied which makes a great change for the usual offering of boring sandwiches. The food is all cooked fresh and a lot of their veggies come from their own garden which I am a huge fan of. The staff are fantastic , the lady behind the bar (so sorry I don't know her name) is always extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble which really does make all the difference in a small country pub. This visit I had fish goujons with fresh tartare sauce with hand cooked chips - absolutely delicious. It is so nice to have a pub that is consistently excellent in every way. We will be back.

We booked here for a special 70th birthday with family and friends. What a nice surprise it was to find this little gem tucked away in a country village. It was a sunny evening so we sat outside for a drink in a small but attractive garden which incorporates their veggie plot the fruits of which are used in the restaurant. We then went inside to our table which was beautifully set out in oldie worldie surroundings. The food was delicious and the menu was varied. Staff were very attentive at all times and couldn’t do enough for our party of twelve. I brought a cake which they were happy to keep in their kitchen and bring out at the appropriate time. Would definitely go again and can highly recommend.

Great selection of beers. Setting is cosy and traditional.
The food is always expertly prepared with care and attention and we never leave hungry.

We have eaten here on and off for over 20 years. Tonight was appalling. After waiting quite a long time for even the starter of rustic bread and garlic, the fish and chips arrived with 75% batter and hardly any fish. When we quietly mentioned the lack of fish when they took the plates away (they hadn't been to ask us how our meal was during it), they came back saying, next time ask for the fish without batter! No manager or person in authority came to see us and apologise. It has drastically gone downhill. Won't be back, shame really as it's a local pub to us.

We visited the Kings Head during a visit to Stratford Upon Avon and were so blown away by how lovely, picturesque and friendly the place was. My friend spoke to the girl who served us briefly on the phone and she remembered us when we arrived! I asked her a quick question about the wines to go with dinner and she quickly offered a cheeky wine tasting session which made me laugh, she was so lovely and quick to help me decide which dish to choose from their lovely menu! The food was nothing like I expected, I thought it would be nice but it was outstanding, beautifully presented and paired perfectly with the wine we chose. We even got chatting to the owner of the pub whilst waiting for our main course to arrive and got some great tips on things to do and see for our visit to Stratford Upon Avon the next day. They also so kindly booked us a taxi back to our hotel once we discovered Uber wasn’t an option! (Kidding.....).

A little hidden gem in such a lovely setting, right up my street with its rich history, crooked walls, beams, log fires and incredible staff! I’m so happy we chose it for our visit and I’d recommend a visit in a heartbeat! Xxx
