Just had a one night stay with my mum to get out of London. Couldn't have had a warmer welcome after visiting the nearby Oare Marshes which were the point of the visit, as i wanted to see a little bit of wild!

Had dinner in the restaurant, which was absolutely delicious (I had their Aussie Burger). And breakfast was yummy and cooked to perfection.

We shall return ...

Three of us stayed at The White Horse for 2 nights. The rooms are superbly appointed, large comfortable beds, fabulous bedding, flannels, White Company toiletries and extremely tasteful/quality decor/furnishings. The pub has lots of character, the food was very good and Natalie was a great host. I thought the service was exceptional.
There are plenty of places to visit nearby and I would highly recommend this pub.
Great job!

We had Sunday lunch here at this hidden gem which comprises a gorgeous hotel, restaurant and bar. The restaurant is modern with exposed wooden flooring, lots of natural light, exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace with a cosy bar with velvet armchairs - the perfect place to relax after Sunday lunch.

We enjoyed the beetroot ‘non’ ravioli, goats cheese, candied beets with beetroot jelly and the hot smoked salmon, horseradish cream and cucumber jelly for starters. Both dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. For mains we had the White Horse Roast - dry aged rib of beef served with seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese and the Butternut Squash and Sage Pithivier. The beef was pink and tender and came with horseradish and mustard. The wine list was extensive with a good selection of wines by the glass. For dessert, the homemade meringue with raspberries and a white chocolate sauce was again beautifully presented and a perfect portion size after a very filling roast. The staff were all very friendly, engaging and attentive. Unfortunately, a quiet and relaxing Sunday lunch was rudely interrupted by a family with three children who were seated at an adjacent table watching an iPad without headphones at high volume which spoilt the ambience a little. It was so loud that my partner had to ask the parents to turn the volume down. The staff did apologise to us for the noise and interruption but it was a little disappointing that they didn’t do anything to directly address what was clearly unreasonable and thoughtless behaviour despite being aware that this was impacting other diners. Otherwise this would have been a five star review.

Nipped in on the off chance of a roast, a warning bell should have sounded when there were so few customers. Ordered the roast, it was okay, nothing special. I did notice there was no price on the menu but assumed it would be average, WRONG! It's £ 25 per roast. Was it worth it? No. Would I return? No.
