“Authentic, Creative, Delicious and Relaxing”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

No pretense here. You find a sense of history that enables you to connect with this unique group of creative owners and patrons here in a tiny corner of South Africa between Cape Point and Cape Town. Food is delicious. Owners and Chef are friendly, generous and honest in their hospitality. The place is sort of an intimate, personalized time capsule, giving people "from away" a glimpse of what it might be like to live here all year round instead of just a winter escape from Canada!

“Open again”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

The Cape House Restaurant had to close for 19 months because of a problem with a neighbour over Saturday afternoon music. It reopened in December 2013.
Situated in open country, this is a very simple place with excellent food and very pleasant staff. We went twice in February and had very varied food, ranging from seared tuna to prawns and steaks. If you want a relaxing meal, this is the place to visit.

“Great little place”
Reviewed 14 February 2014 via mobile

First called here in 2010 and loved it, it is in a nice secluded spot hidden away from the road. In 2012 it was closed and we were really disappointed. Great to see its open again, the relaxed atmosphere, good weather and good food makes for a great place to get away from it all.

“Surprisingly yummy !”
Reviewed 11 December 2013

After the Cape park walking and hiking we drove past this place and nearly missed it as it's a bit hidden behind a open air shop.
We were the only customers and looking at the place I was not to sure at first. However, the staff was very very friendly and welcoming and since we were hungry, hey, what the heck can go wrong!
We sat outside on the side, bit of a barren location but still hungry and treated very friendly so let's eat!
We had a simple meal, the soup of the day which turned out to be a veggie soup. But what a soup that was. Simple but so full of veggies and very very tasty, simply the best vegetable soup I've ever had (and that from not really a veggie fan!). As it left some space for desert I also had a great fruit ice cream combo that was excellent value for money and the partner had carrot cake which was excellent (and that from a none cake fan!).
Prices are very reasonable as well.
If all their dishes are this good you are in for a winner, hence, 5 stars, not as much the location of venue, just quality of the food and friendliness of the staff.

“Excellent & simple lunch after cape of good hope visit !”
Reviewed 11 March 2012

The menu is quite simple with mainly salads and that's what we took. Excellent and big salads. Friendly welcome and nice bucolic terrace.
