“A haven of peace and tranquility”

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, in beautiful surroundings, then look no further than Labarde. I have stayed here for two holidays now, the first time 10 of us took two of the three well-appointed gites. We had a wonderful week of lazing around the pool, exploring the area, visiting chateaux, bastide towns and following the Dordovne river. We vowed to return. So, we just did, but this time took over the entire complex of three gites.

Fifteen of us ranging from 3 years to 50 years - there really is something for everyone. You can relax and wander around, taking in the fields of sunflowers, plum trees and vineyards. My personal highlights this year were our stargazing night, spectacular and informative; our visit to the night market at Dausse where you can eat everything from mussels and snails to chicken and crepes and dance to those crazy euro tunes; the wine tasting at Chateau Latuc; together with every night we spent BBQing and laughing under the stars until the early hours of the morning.

Labarde is a short drive to the nearest bakery, butcher and supermarket, which will have everything you could possibly need. Vineyards abound, so buy direct or again from the supermarket where you can still pick up local wines for under 3 euro - and it's drinkable! Gas BBQs are provided for each gite, which are also extremely well kitted out with everything you'd need in a kitchen. We ate altogether on the terrace every night, after drinks near the pool.

Take everyone you love to spend quality time with and go to Labarde.
