We were told about Los Chopos by our Friends, they recommended stopping for breakfast on the way back to Malaga Airport, in all our visits to Arcos we have never managed it! This time as we were passing by on our way to Arcos we thought we would stop for lunch... have to say the place looked desserted and shut and it took me to actually get out of the car and actually go inside to see if it was open... the waiters barely spoke any English so communication was not too easy. We were eventually offered a menu in English that made little sense at all! We managed to order bread and butter a salad, chicken with sauce and scrambled eggs with asparagus. The food was delicious!! I have never seen such a big chicken breast and the fresh salad was to die for it had everything but the kitchen sink in it. The bread rolls were the freshest I have eaten in a long time. We had a beer and wine to drink and the bill was about €35.. maybe not the cheapest lunch but the food was just lovely. Will be returning on our next visit .

As with previous reviewers, my wife and I planned to have lunch in this restaurant having just flown into Malaga and heading west to Olvera. Having escaped Malaga airport and collected a car from the excellent Malagacar.com rather quicker than anticipated we arrived at the restaurant as they were setting up for lunch. We had a drink at the bar, before being served at about 1 o'clock (breakfast time, by Spanish standards). We opted for the menu del dia, with three choices of appetisers and mains. We had asparagus salad, which was presented very artistically. This was followed by lightly fried whitebait and sardines served with mixed vegetables. There were standard desserts - we went for the flan and the rice pudding - both seemed to be homemade. With bread, olives and a drink, the meal was 8 euros each. The staff were very friendly and cheerful, making this an ideal stopping point for anyone travelling west from Malaga. The hotel looked like it would be an interesting place to stay, and the full menu would justify a trip from nearby towns.

Recommended to come here on our way back to Malaga airport having stayed in Ronda and been out and about near to Algodonales and Olvera. It was my wife's birthday so we went through the tapas room into the main restaurant dining room. Most people were finishing their meals around 15:30 however no problem getting served, one of the great advantages of Spain over France. The informality of service whilst retaining style and quality is a joy to experience.
We had delicious seafood soup, pimentos de Paxton and gorgeous rare fillet steaks. All the food was perfectly prepared, the steaks were huge and top quality, like cutting butter. With half a bottle of rose and coffees the bill was only 55 euros, quite amazing value. We plan to return here again on future visits to and from the airport as it is approx halfway on our normal journey time. Thanks to the kitchen for a job very very well done!

Although not on the tourist/holiday route, Campillos is worth a visit, if only for experiencing the wonderful food, service and atmosphere of Los Chopos. I have been many times over the past two years. The facilities are extensive. They have extensive conference and banqueting facilities, as well as a choice of eating areas, both inside and outside, not to mention an 8 bedroom hotel.
The have a fire oven. Meat cooked in this oven tastes amazing. Their menu is extensive. I have had breakfast their three times. Their homemade breakfast pates are out of this world, served with freshly made bread, my is watering just thinking about it. The service is great and the owners and staff very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Los Chopos has enjoyed an a very well deserved, excellent reputation for years. Its worth venturing out from Malaga, Seville, Cordoba, Granada or resorts on the Costa del Sol for this fantastic culninary treat.
