We have stayed in Dominio Mare Resort & Spa in September 2014 (in one of the villas). The villa is nice, new, modern, it has a little table outside with sea view. Obvious pluses of this resort:
-villas are modern and comfortable (better option than 4*star hotel in Italy which could be really bad and old)
-fantastic view
-nice pool and spa
-only 400km from Geneva so in 5 hours you can be at the beach
Disadvantges:
-the resort is located on the top of the mountain (!) it is really far from the beach and you need a car to get there
-parking near the beach is ALWAYS packed (!!!), you will spend 40 minutes looking for a spot and still will be forced to park illegally-> hotel MUST arrange a free transfer, there is no other solution
-from May to September the beach is packed (!) Hotel claims to have a private beach but for extra cost of EUR16 for 2 persons for half day and it is just a little part of huge beach belong to other hotels (no need to say that municipal beach is packed as well). Front line of sunbeds will be given to "friends", especialy on weekends.
-just around the corner of Bergeggi there is a big industrial port Vado something (you can not see it but check the map, but I don't like the idea to swim so close to it. One day the stream brought lot's rubbish to the beach.
-Bergeggi is realy small, to go out for dinner you need to drive to the cities close by (Noli is very nice medivial city, Savona is too big and not charming, other cities seem to be too far for just getting a meal)....
I gave this hotel "very good" as their web is very precise, you will get what you see on the photos+ villas are modern and clean, the view is terrific. Overall we had a good time at Domina, but there are so many beautiful places in Italy that we definately will try to discover more real perls...
