So glad you enjoyed your break. Casper would be most welcome again - Sally needs to learn that not everyone, or every hound at least, finds her irresistible! Her ego wasn't that bruised and she is already flirting with all and sundry again..

“Beautifully restored luxurious property from which to explore a lovely part of England”
Reviewed 28 March 2013 for a stay in September 2012

This was our first week in U.K. Digby was an easy drive from Heathrow after our 23 hour journey from Australia and Linda made us very welcome. She has thought of everything to ensure comfort and luxury. We had a marvellous week. There is so much to see in this part of U.K. and then you return to the Granary and just luxuriate. The number of reviews are proof that U.K. visitors love the Granary. I think more overseas visitors should consider visiting this part of England and of course staying in the Granary for a unique UK experience.

“The ultimate Romantic Retreat!”

Just loved this place! From the first time we spoke to Linda we knew that this property would be something special and it sure was - well worth the near 3hrs it took for us to travel there.
The Granary is is located within the grounds of The Manor House in the little village of Digby and is within easy walking distance of its local pub "The Red Lion". The location is very peaceful and ideally situated for visits to nearby Lincoln, Newark and Woodhall Spa. There is a comprehensive selection of tourist information, guides and a guests suggestion book available inside the property.
This self catering accommodation is superbly furnished with every attention to detail and we really had to rack our brains to see if we could think of anything it didn't have - nope we couldn't! The living room with its wood burning stove was very enticing and we were more than happy to sit there with the rain pouring down outside enjoying its warmth - there is underfloor heating throughout which ensures that he place is very cosy and all the lighting have dimmer switches which enhances the atmosphere. The french doors lead onto a gravelled garden with fresh herb beds and garden furniture: will certainly make a return booking in the warmer weather to enjoy sitting out here! |
The kitchen/dining area with its exposed beams is very well equipped - here you will find a welcome hamper of local produce and a dish of fresh eggs from their own chickens. Upstairs, the large bedroom area has a very comfortable king size bed and leads into an even larger bathroom with the "fabled" copper bath: Yes, it does take ages to fill but with the exposed beams and crystal chandelier you just cannot resist indulging in it - it just cries out for a glass of Champagne to complete the picture: so very romantic!
We cannot fault this little gem of a place at all and certainly agree with other guests that the owners have put great thought both into the renovation and decor - simply speaking I would just love to live here all year round!

“The Jewel in Lincolnshires Crown”
Reviewed 23 February 2013 for a stay in January 2013

What a true 'Secret Escape'. Linda made us extremely welcome. The property has the biggest WOW Factor. The decor, furniture and aura of the place is fantastic. To be specific. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower large and invigorating. The bath, so relaxing. The kitchen equipment, exactly as required. The Log Burner was spectacular as the weather turned wintry with several inches of snow. A welcome pack was provided and as we stayed two weeks was replenished, fantastic service. We can't praise Jim and Linda enough. On reading the on-site diary which goes back a while, there was not one
negative comment, and that says it all.
You must visit this property, it is set in wonderful Lincolnshire Countryside. And is THE place to relax. You know it makes sense........................

“Wonderful & Relaxing”
Reviewed 24 January 2013 for a stay in December 2012

Booked the cottage at the last minute for a short 5 night stay. The cottacge was great. It was well finsihed and had wonderful views across the fields, together with a wood burner ideal for the winter it was a relaxing base to visit the area. The only moan will be the dishwasher, it did not work without having a chair wedged against it, The land loard did say they were getting it fixed but never the less it was a pain. That said everything else was great. Whilst there we used the local pub on a couple of occassions the red lion, it provided some really nice food a nice pint and also some very friendly local people.

Hi, Many thanks for taking the time to post a review - it is much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and can only apologise for the problem with the dishwasher while you were with us. After a couple of failed attempts to repair the problem I can confirm that a brand new Bosch dishwasher was installed before Christmas but there was a slight delay while we waited for delivery of the machine and replacement cover. It is a better machine all round and hopefully will provide many years of chair free service! Apologies again for the inconvenience, Linda.
