“A LOVELY PLACE TO STAY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2013

We stayed here in May 2013 and had a lovely time with friends. The rooms were perfect with the little extras of coffee and tea making facilities. Fabulous shower and plenty of room overall. Overlooking the canal it was lovely and peaceful. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. Overall a lovely stay in excellent conditions. Would definitely go again.

I stayed here on business and it was very pleasant and reasonably priced. The location is perfect overlooking the canal. My room was large, clean, and comfortable with a very large en-suite and a great shower. The staff were very welcoming when I arrived and went out of their way to show me to the room and make sure I had everything I needed. I did not eat here in the evening due to business commitments but breakfast was excellent and Susan the waitress was friendly and efficient. I will definitely stay here again when in the area.

We have just spent a very nice overnight stay and rate this as a very high 5* the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable, very picturesque by the water. We had the ribeye steak which was excellent and to die for, the breakfast was also very nice and just what you want to set you up for the day. We found the staff very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble, Terry helped us with the wine selection and made our stay feel very special. The room was very nice, clean and modern, We will be back and would recommend this for a short break or just a relaxing meal.

Dave, who was in charge of the bar when we arrived was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and he also cooked breakfast on the second day, which was excellent. There was a misunderstanding on the first morning as to the timing of breakfast, but this was also rectified on the second day. The room was big, with modern flat screen TV and a lot of electric points, - useful for charging golf batteries as we were playing golf at Pleasington, just a couple of miles away. The bathroom was superb, with a proper bath and a huge walk in shower. The wifi had good reception and the coffee was as good as you will get in Spain. We will go back.

From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable, we were welcomed by Lauren who was very helpful and friendly, we were spending the weekend at the Boatyard as our Daughter was getting married and we had booked the wedding barge from the neighbouring Canal Cruises, and the evening reception at the Boatyard, we were looked after like royalty with nothing too much trouble for the staff, the room (No 1) was superb, very clean very comfortable and spacious, and everything worked!
The food at the Boatyard is superb, fresh and cooked to perfection, our evening reception went like clockwork, we had a barbeque all freshly cooked by the deputy manager Dave, what a "diamond"
Terry the Manager made sure everything was to our satisfaction, a very friendly atmosphere no complaints whatsoever, the breakfast was excellent all freshly cooked, a real treat, service from Sue in the morning was fabulous,
Thank you to all the staff at the Boatyard, you made a special weekend very special, what is their secret? it is very simple! the staff are nothing short of outstanding, well done we will definately be back.

Room Tip: If room 1 is anything to go by any room will satisfy the most discerning traveller

wow what a friendly place! We arrived to be greeted by the manager who showed us tothe room which was quite modern, clean and had a large flat screen TV which I liked. The food in the restaurant was surprisingly good and I would recomment the homemade burgers which were very tasty. The English breakfast in the coffee lounge was very filling and we were again served by the manager who was very jovial! A memorable stay!

I was staying on a business trip, but would equally enjoy this as holiday break. The staff were friendly and helpful, if a little disorganised on my arrival, they seemed to struggle to find my paperwork, but recovered to a full and helpful welcome.
The location is adjacent to the canal which is picturesque anytime, and must be delightful in better weather.
The room was large with a very large double..bliss...and a modern walk in shower room.
The food was good pub grub, and I enjoyed my evening meal.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, get a room furthest from the road, nearest the canal.
