Stayed for one night on business. Cheaper than the local Premier Inn so thought I would give it a try. The location is delightful. At 5.50 I was sitting on the river bank, there are plenty of chairs and tables, enjoying a cool pint. The food and service was second to none. Breakfast was piping hot and cooked to order. The room was very clean with plenty of everything, tea, coffee, towels etc.
I would stay here again and recommend it. I do stay away a lot on business. The Boatyard Inn puts lots of good hotels to shame.

I was disappointed to read your review as I had just finished writing a response to a previous one who had thoroughly enjoyed their meal with us. I am only sorry that you didn't enjoy your meals with us.

We always do our best to ensure that our customers have an enjoyable time and meal with us, but it would appear that on this occasion, we didn't get it quite right.

I hope that you will come and visit us again in the near future and that you will enjoy your visit.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

We were greeted by welcoming yet very apologetic staff advising us that our family room was not available as the previous family had somehow managed to break the two single beds (!). They advised that they had arranged a second room, at no extra charge, however our children are only 6 and 2 and we wanted to be in one room. After some discussion, the staff agreed to move the single beds into the family room whilst we enjoyed our meal, so potential disaster averted! Beds were v comfortable indeed, but the huge wet room was a treat- all 4 of us had a communal shower in the morning and the girls did not want to get out! Tasty breakfasts too (though still full from great meal the night before!). Setting by the canal was also very pleasant and we were truly sorry not to be staying a second night.

Me and my son stayed for four days last week good friendly staff the room was clean and comfortable .
The food was very nice so overall a very nice place to stay no problems .

The only gripe i had was no wifi in rooms you have to go to the bar area . but not a problem.

A special thanks must go to the housekeepers who do a fantastic job.
All the staff including the manager who offered me a brolly to go to our room when it was raining .
Many thanks .

The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We booked two rooms and both had excellent bathrooms and a good level of cleanliness. I personally dislike bottled toiletries but this is a minor gripe. The setting is very good and right next to the canal - yo can watch the narrowboats from the sunny terrace. The food is very disappointing and ordinary. Service is slow although the staff are pleasant and helpful

We managed to get 2 rooms here at short notice for a good price. We think it's been overlooked due to what appear to be poor trip advisor reviews that are based on the restaurant not the accommodation so we're pleased we looked a bit closer. The location is fantastic in view of how close you are to the motorway - alongside a beautiful peaceful canal way complete with ducks , flowers & quaint boats. The rooms are huge & very modern with all you need - large flat screen tv, kettle, iron & board, rain forest shower & bath. The photos on the web site really don't do it justice. We do think there may have been a blip with housekeeping when we first arrived since one of the rooms looked like it hadn't had a recent clean but when we returned the next day after house keeping it was looking good. The disabled room 6 is huge and has grab rails and shower seat. It's also the family room so there is a double & 2 singles in along with table & chairs. Breakfast was a well cooked good quality full English - no choice of fruit etc. we found the restaurant staff friendly & helpful and when we ordered plates of home made chips for supper they even brought them to our room - lovely! We would definitely stay again - great location & good room for good price.
