We attended a function at Beeston Manor and it was the most idealic place ! The scenery was breathtaking and the service and food were outstanding. We took our child of 3 years and found the staff to be very child friendly and accommodating. Will definately recommend this hotel, it was flawless in every way !

This is my second visit to Beeston Manor and having visited many venues through work I can say this has been the best!. Last time a large group of us stayed overnight and what a treat that was the rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. As for the food and service all of my colleagues agreed they had been very well looked after! I believe the food is sourced locally and is of very good quality in fact I have to say it was sometimes hard to concentrate on work when yet another platter of wonderful homemade scones, biscuits etc kept on arriving. Dinner and breakfact too were lovely and we found the staff very accomodating and helpful I'm sure I will return again ofr both business and pleasure.

We visited Beeston Manor for the purpose of a family Wedding. It is a nice looking building, stone built on the outside and tastefully decorated on the inside. The rooms were small but did have ensuite facilites and were decorated in a muted manner.
The Wedding went exceptionally well and our large party, which included ten children under the age of six were seated along with parents for the wedding breakfast. There was not a children's menu (just smaller portions of what the adults were eating, although ice cream was provided for desert) and the high chairs came without restraints. We had to tether our two year old into her high chair to prevent her from sliding out.
The meal was very good but not ideally suited to children. They were expected to use adult sized cutlery and so on, even though the bride and groom had asked for suitable provisions for them.
The owner of the establishment was outraged when it was discovered that a number of our children had taken it upon themselves to draw on the table cloths (party bags had been provided during the speeches for the children to occupy themselves with) and at the most inappropriate time, in the most rude manner, the guests were 'told off' like naughty school children (very humiliating). The owner also demanded payment (£25) for each damaged table cloth. Another of our party was asked to pay for damages when the pollen from the white lillies she had arranged as table decorations (they were beautiful) had fallen onto the table cloths which were instantly declared ruined.
The children became a source of annoyance for the owner who repeatedly chastised them for playing outside in the garden area, even though they were under adult supervision. Older children were also reprimanded by the same man for letting the smaller children run down the corridors.
Clearly this is not a place to take anyone under the age of eighteen. There are no family rooms here, but there is a good infant changing facility. An attempt has been made to accomodate children but the manner in which they were treated by the owner was unpleasant to say the least.
It was a shame, as many of the staff were attentive and kind. One lady made sure that the youngest children had juice and would literally have bent over backwards to accomodate thier needs.
In all Beeston Manor is a nice place, in beautiful surroundings. It serves well cooked delicious food, is clean and tidy and was a good place to hold a wedding. However, even though the other staff made sure the children were welcome they did not think to cover the tables where children were sitting in an appropriate durable cloth and the attitude towards them from the owner was unkind and upsetting. I have never been spoken to by an owner of any business in such a manner and I was, in short, disgusted.

The wedding the guest attended was organized in four weeks when the original venue they had booked ceased trading leaving them trying to find an alternative venue at very short notice.
We did our best to make sure their special day was as they wanted. The bride and groom were very happy with the wedding, venue and the personal service provided. We are very disappointed with the comments made by the guest who attended. We would like to make the following response to the unfair review.
We are a child friendly venue and have three children ourselves and are therefore are more than able to understand the position of guests visiting Beeston Manor with children. The bride and groom requested the menu for the children a week before the wedding. Their meal was not a small version of the adult meal. We were not asked to provide suitable cutlery for the children under the age of three. If the guest had asked for child cutlery, we would have provided it.
During the speeches at the wedding we assisted by controlling the volume of the microphone. Later on staff informed us that on one particular table a child had drawin on a new white table cloth and that the drawing was not a small accidental mark, but a considerable amount. As parents, we would not sit next to our children and blatently watch then vandalize a table cloth.
The parent was with the child and was not exercising parental control by allowing the child to continue with no regard or respect to our property. We had spent ten years on the development and a lot of time care and expense had been put into the build We expect our guests to treat our property with respect and did not feel that this particular guest did so.
We spoke to the guest - not during speeches and had a "quiet word" with her, but the she did not want to take any notice and became angry. The table cloth which we had bought and not hired would have had to be replaced. We therefore asked for payment to replace it. We did not tell the bride and groom of the incident as we did not want to spoil their day in any way. The following day we told them about the incident and they were upset about what had happened and they paid for the repalcement table cloth as the guest had left without paying for the damage caused.
We did not provide the party bags with crayons inside them and think the bride and groom would have felt a cover on the tables where the children were would have spoilt the dressing of the tables.
We strongly disagree we were rude to the guest, if fact the guest was very rude to us. We did remark that pollen had stained a table cloth and questioned if it would come out when washed. The pollen had been rubbed into the material. We did not ask for payment for the accidental damage.
Our high chairs are new and comply with European standards.
The chidren were not of annoyance to us. We were concerned for their safety as they were playing on walls in the garden and went beyond the wall boundary where there are heli-pads. As parents ourselves, we were concerned injury could be caused if they jumped or fell off the walls.
The children were also rolling not running down a slope from the reception to the function room. This was a hazard to guests walking up and down, but also to staff who were carrying trays of food and glasses. The children were also doing "circuits" through the dining room and into reception. Again we were concerned if something was dropped on them if staff tripped up or bumped into them.
We do have a family room and also Z beds available for children.
We do consider ourselves to be a family friendly hotel and have held many functions where lots of children have attended and had a lovely visit nad had no complaints, in fact the reverse and have sent glowing thank you cards.
We are very family orientated business and hopefully our version of events will alleviate any concerns families may have about visiting Beeston Manor.
