We were there on March 21 and it is in fact open. He is generally closed on Sundays and only serves dinner. It is one of the best creole meals on the island and one of the best dining deals on the island. You will dine on the front porch of Chef Tony's house. Chef Tony once served French President Francois Mitterrand and U.S. President George H.W. Bush and his culinary skills are obvious. The menu is limited but you will not leave hungry. Bottles of wine are reasonable priced. Cash only. Look for his house in the French quarter around the hairpin turn opposite the Catholic Church. If you drive by during the day and the front door is open, stop in and make a reservation.

We went to this restaurant but it is no longer open. Our guide was not sure if the owners moved or just closed down.

This is quite literally the most home cooked meal you will have on the island since the restaurant is also the chef's house.

I came to this restaurant because it was recommended by Anthony Bourdain. If you see the youtube clip, I was expecting to be served by the owner's children but I then realized the clip was from 6-7 years ago and now his kids our adults, lol. We had a laugh about this with the chef.

You have to get the creole chicken and the conch fritters. The chicken comes with vegetables, rice, potatoes and beans - it's a lot of food!. This is the best value considering dinner costs about $17 USD. A bottle of house wine costs only $13....crazy!

But most importantly, the chef/owner is so nice and personal. I highly recommend to make reservations because he does run out of food. We were very lucky that we had his last chicken. The couple that came next were not so fortunate. But this is a good thing because it shows all his food is fresh.

The restaurant is a little difficult to find. It is located in the French Quarter, right after the steep hill between Philipsburg and Orient Bay, right across a catholic church.

We ate here several years ago and it was horrid in every way. Canned peas, canned snails placed in used shells. I don't get the reviews on this one.

This place was on our list of things to do while we were there but we had a hard time getting there when they were open. First we went for lunch but they only service dinner. Then we went on a Sunday night but they closed on Sunday. We were finally able to get out there on our last night on the island. It is a great old house and Tony the owner who lives in the house is wonderful. Our meal was by far the best meal we had in our 10 day stay on the island. Our 2 and 3 year old boys that are very picky eaters even loved the food. You get great food, big portions, and a bit of Island history. Loved it!
