11 day Family Holiday

Overall, good hotel for kids. Wet and Wild Water Park is fantastic for kids and adults. Plenty for the kids to do the through the day. Excellent Park and Kids Club facilities you can use without having to leaving your kids unsupervised. My wee girl loves going to get her wee face painted. Shows are ok, however, were on the same time as the mini disco. Trampolines are not safe! Huge gap between the stairway and entrance to trampolines, wee girls leg got stuck and was injured no one interested in listening to what had happened. Pool snack bar closed as end of season so only one operating.

Rooms were cleaned and made service excellent.

Food was average, not catered for British. But you won’t go hungry. Unlike other hotels in Lara Beach, you are not taken to a table and seated or offered a drink. Waiters are only interested if you are tipping them. With one asking for a tip! When told we would tip tomorrow he asked for more.

Hairdressers avoid - wash and blow dry which should have cost 15 euros and ended up costing 32 euros. Hairdresser try to force me into 100 Euro treatment for hair as told me my hair was bad. After it been done at home 3 weeks before leaving. Then asked to cut my hair for extra 20 euros even though I have extensions and don’t need a cut! Looking to make a pound anyway.

Stay away from local shop in hotel. 5 euros for a tub of Pringles! Use the local shops outside the hotel!

Visited a couple of other hotels in area Royal Seginus, Adalya, Royal Holiday Palace. Night and day in comparison to Aska!

Dear michellesZ5486JR,

We really appreciate you taking the time to send your valuable comments about your stay with us as it helps to maintain the quality at the hotel. We would like to make a heartfelt apology that your stay was not up to your expectations. It was great to read your daughetr was happy to visit our mini club and that you overall liked our WnW park with all its entertainments. We are very sad to hear about luna park, we would like to assure that our luna park is authorized as safe by independent establishment. We have never had any similar cases you describe. But we will pay attention to this aspect and check twice.

Price policy of facilities provided by the third party companies (photographers, hairdressers etc) isn't something we are able to audit and control unfortunately. But our guests always do have a choice to get these services from hotel shops or any other shop outside.

We deeply regret that your holiday seems not to have entirely met your expectations. Please accept our sincere apologies for the unfortunate events that marred your Aska Lara experience. We have duly noted your comments and will evaluate these with our team for improvement measures wherever possible and necessary.

Kindly,
Jana Revina

We just got back from the aska Lara if you like butlin's your like this hotel we stayed in the river suite which is 3 mins walk from the main hotel which is small but adequate with no balcony which we got told there would be.The entertainment was very very poor they did a bingo before the show 3 euros for each ticket to exspensive and the prizes were a massage and a cheap bottle of bubbly someone is making money the food was very good the waiters are very rude or fantastic one in particular was called aye up he was so helpful. Our shuttle turned up at the hotel at 1930 for a 2335 flight even thou we got told by reception it would be there at 2100 never known a shuttle come that early so we missed our shuttle and had to get a taxi to the airport 20 euros wasted they were called all in all you pay for what you get we stayed at the limak Lara and it's in a different league.

Dear Stephen,

Thank you for choosing our hotel and for sharing the review following your recent stay at our resort. We are pleased to hear that in overall you were satisfied with your stay. However, we are disappointed that some aspects of your holiday didn't meet up your expectations. It's regrettable that you haven't got correct information about the room category you booked from your travel agent. Although we usually receive only positive feedback about the animation and service staff, your comments will be shared with the relevant departments. Your commendations toward our waiter Mr.Eyüp are highly appreciated and will definitely be passed onto him. We are surprised to see your comment about the situation with the airport pick-up shuttle. All information regarding the departures and pick-up times are provided solely by the tour operators. The relevant documents are placed at the front desk or travel agency corner and our guests usually check their names in the lists provided by the touroperators and therefore verify the pick-up information theirselves. Had an amazing holiday with my husband and kids aged 9 and 11. My best hotel in Turkey so far!

The beach club is amazing! The bus there and back runs constantly from 10-midnight when it is open. The beach is good with amazingly comfy loungers on the pier for free. Maybe a bar there would be a good idea (although you can hire a beach cabana with waiter service for 50 Euros a day or 25 Euros for half day). The kids loved jumping off the pier. The pools and slides are great. Plenty of sunbeds. Lots of English round the pools. Good party atmosphere. The pancake lady is great and 8 choices of flavoured ice cream (the ice cream man was funny and made me one with 8 flavours - and loads of different ice creams/lollies. Slushies (and alcoholic slushies). Some international drinks free too. Lots going on all day and kids loved the teenage club where they could walk in and out and see the ponies and play Xbox or Playstation. The reps were good and the kids would ask to play bingo. I asked one rep if they could do archery and he went off to get dressed as an Indian and rallied other kids round too - he was great. Also rifle shooting and lots of other activities for them. Always lots going on (although I could have done with more than an hour break between zumba and belly dancing in the 35 degree heat!
Loved having alcoholic slushies at the beach bar! And much better to eat at either of the 2 beach club restaurants where you are served. Cocktails and Turkish "champagne" good.

In the evening there were usually tables found quite easily for the restaurant then the shows at the beach club then entertainment. The party night was good with dancers and smoke machine and dj but some nights it was just live music. Maybe they should put music on at the entertainment area while the shows were on? The beach bar gives out free bowls of crisps and nacho chips too. We all loved the funfair rides and the boys would play football or basketball in the lit courts in the evening. The main bar at the hotel also has live music. Did even make it to the hotel nightclub one night!

There is a bazaar next door to the hotel but very expensive so we didn't venture out much as just rows of fabulous hotels choc a block next to each other. The shopping centre in the hotel is expensive too. Didn't use the cinema, bowling or arcades but looked good.

I have had better food at other hotels but there was loads of choice and to be fair if it's too nice I eat too much! There is a grill area at the back of the restaurant which is an egg station (which I didn't find on the first day) and also does BBQs in the evening.

We went to Land of the Legends for the day which was amazing. Lots of water rides and theme park rides. The huge rollercoaster was amazing and we went on it about 5 times in a row with no queues near the end of the day. You can take in water but no other food or drink and the food is quite dear there so have a good breakfast first!

Special thanks to Fahri (we loved darts every morning and he whisked me round the floor dancing). Julia (Russian rep) was such fun and so helpful - love her! Delana was a great belly dancing teacher! The young English rep who the kids loved watching his backflips. The head waiter at the beach club restaurant nearest the beach did amazing pina coladas with squirty cream! And all the staff in the restaurants were so hard working.

Cons - hotel room not that big and camp bed and hard sofa bed not very comfy. Had to deliver our own luggage to rooms late at night.

Any problems we had with the room/safe were fixed straight away. Although I think my maid lost her duster!

Room tip: Pool view is good.

Young family with a baby, visited in October for 1 week. The hotel itself is very nice, and spotless! It is constantly being cleaned which is great.

Room - We had a standard double, which was large enough for 2 adults and a baby cot. Bed was 2 singles pushed together, and very comfortable. Air-con worked perfect. Room included a TV, but only had 2 english speaking channels, BBC entertainment, and Comedy Central - (which was MTV). Obviously not there to watch TV but more english channels would have been nice for when relaxing in the room. Minibar in the room, incudes 2 bottles of beer, a coke, sprite and fanta, and plenty water. Safe is free to use also. Bathroom is nice, a big rainfall shower!

Food - food is plentiful and nice. Not sure why many people complain. Yes, the breakfast can be a little repetitive, but then have something different everyday so you don't get bored? The 2 restaurants across the road at the wet'n'wild are nice for lunch, and dinner in the buffet was nice - plenty of food to choose from.

One complaint I have about the food, is when it came to dishes that have mince meat in/on them. Such as the local 'Lahmahcun' dish, or the 'Mevlan Pide', or other mince meat dishes in the buffet restaurant - on the menus, it is just referred to as 'meat'. It is not specified as to whether this is Lamb or Beef, and for someone that doesn't eat beef due to cultural reasons, this was a bit worrying. Especially as when I asked about the Lahmacun at the wet'n'wild, I was told it was Lamb, but when asked about it at the main pool restaurant, I was told it was beef... So please start specifying what meat it actually is.

Spa - had the traditional Hammam Turkish Bath and Massage - 1 hour total for approx 45 Euros - definitely worth it - had it twice!

All in all, a very nice resort, nice pool area on both sides, nice food, branded drinks (you need to ask for the branded version) otherwise you get local. Branded includes Gordons, Beefeater, Havana Club, Captain Morgan, Smirnoff, Absolut, Red Label, Ballantines etc).

Shuttle bus is available and comes every 10-15 mins or so, very efficient.

One thing i would say is the hotel attracts many people from eastern european countries, and Russia - I have no problem at all with anyone. But sometimes, some of the guests can be very rude - but this may be their mannerism and how they behave in their Country, so nothing to do with the hotel itself, just something for Brits to be aware of.

Would i return - Yes, probably! :)

Young couple went for a week, was a lovely hotel. The only downside was the entertainment section was in the wet and wild area which meant crossing the main road or getting the shuttle which was fine (but at times this could get really busy).

Spa

This was great and really responsible prices in comparison to the next hotel we stayed in (Royal Holiday Palace & Royal Seginus). At Aska they charged us £30 each roughly for a Turkish Bath, Foam Massage, Full Body Massage - which was lovely and the staff made you feel at ease and not one bit awkward.

Choice is steam room or a sauna which is good - not many hotels offer this.

Food

Small restaurant for the amount of guests, really need to reconsider another restaurant or something. It is just chaos, everyone going in different directions.

I think the food choices need to be a little more varied, it seemed to be the same food each night.

Turkish Restaurant - this was amazing, I couldn’t fault it. The staff’s attention to detail was insane, I didn’t even have to think about asking for another drink it was automatically there. Food was great and a huge amount was served - well worth 10 euros each.

Sadly we cut our holiday short at this hotel as travel republic informed us there is a health and safety risk and offered us an alternative hotel - which of course we took as it’s nice to experience another hotel. But Aska Lara was great and we enjoyed our time here.

Personally I’d say it’s more of a 4* though coming from an ex travel agent.

Good hotel has lots to offer
20 minutes from airport. Cost about 140lira each way (£20)

Staff are very helpful and speak good English. Hotel is clean. Mini fridge stocked everyday which is a plus. Plenty to do here without a doubt.

Hotel has two sections. The hotel side with one pool which is not the best of sizes and the other side which is the wet and wild. Wet and wild has a few pools better sized, kids pool, and obviously the beach. Shuttles run every 5 minutes. Defiantly the better part of the hotel is the wet and wild.

Food is the exact same as any hotel in turkey.
Paid €10 euro PP for Turkish Al a carte in my opinion was the same as the main restaurant just with a lot more table service and a lot of small nibbles to make it more valued. They are in small hut like things which are definitely worth the money. A lot more private an feels better to be in a different environment. Staff are brilliant here but 1.5hrs for three courses was a bit excessive especially as it was empty without guests booked in.

Spa was nice. Prices are very good £30pp for a spa package . The other hotels charge £50pp and are half as nice.

One little shopping outlet near by. Absolute ridiculous prices. I’ve been to turkey 6 times in the past 5 years and this was the worst for quality of goods. To go to antalya city centre and back cost us 340lira (£45)and the driver waited 3 hours which is quite steep for a 35minute drive each way. A lot more shops and better priced. I wouldn’t recommend getting the bus like the hotels advises. It’s roughly 20 miles and the they drive very slow.

Would I recommend it? Definitely
