Stayed at Villa Giovina 8-13 January 2013. Firstly, the confusing thing about its location is that it is post coded Pratola Peligna but in fact is in the village of Bagnaturo. Guess it is part of the Peligna district and not in Pratola itself. Based on reading other reviews on it we decided to book but although room was very clean and the views are stupendous unfortunately we were very disappointed by the lack of communal facilities that we could use. We could only eat in the evening if we booked in the morning, we were basically confined to our room unless we asked if we could sit in the bar which we did only once, when we decided to stay in one evening for a meal, which was fine. The owner/manager was very helpful once we asked about facilites and advice on the area.
I do not think there were very many people staying at the time we were there. It may be a totally different kettle of fish in the summer when it could be buzzing with activity but apart from our room we were very disappointed with the facilities not being automatically available/open to us unless we asked, so were confined to our room most evenings. Perhaps this should be mentioned on hotel booking websites.More
