My friends and I joined the surf camp this July 2019. The staff of Baleal Surfcamp was extremely helpful since the very beginning, accommodating our requests for different schedules/arrangements (A special thank to Marta, who was patient enough to reply to all my annoying emails :) and making everything easy, from booking to getting there.
Accommodation was just perfect: hostel 2 is a beautiful surf house, with all facilities and daily cleaning service. The atmosphere is chilled and relaxed and we made good friends with the other guests.
The surf classes were very well organised, with a good ratio 2 instructors/8 students. Diogo and Zeca were always in the water with us, explaining over and over what to do and encouraging us to keep on trying. The school also organises visits in the area (Fatum surf factory, Supertubos beach, medieval festival in Obidos) which give you a nice glimpse of the surf and local culture.
On top of all this, Bar do Bruno. The school bar on the beach is an amazing place, with friendly staff and good food (I highly recommend the daily baked cake). Having dinner there on our last day, watching the sunset over the ocean, just made us think we did not want to leave.
Overall, a great experience, and we all hope to be back soon.More
