“Amazing experiances and great home cooked food”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

We went to the preseli venture eco lodge for the adrenaline cocktail adventure weekend.
we arrived and were greeted and shown to our room which was very spacious and comfy. We Had two dinners, two lunches and two breakfasts included in the package and all the meals were lovely home cooked meals and we certainly didnt go hungry we absolutly loved the food. The activities we chose we coastering , Sea kayacking and the hike. The coastering was great and was a really good way to see the coast we even had a friendly seal pop up every now and then to spy on us. In the afternoon we Sea kayacking and jon our guide was brilliant and i would highly recomend him as he explain about the coast line. The hike the next day along the coastal path was a nice way to relax after our busy weekend and gave us some spectacular views. We really enjoyed our weekend and would certainly do this again

Thank you for your review. Great to hear you enjoyed our meals - we do our best to keep you well fuelled for the adventures :) Ah, it's always special when a curious seal pops by to say 'hello' and there's no better place to relax than on the beautiful coastal path. Jon will be happy about your recommendation. Thanks again and do keep in touch. Alec & the Preseli Venture Team. :)

Our third family trip and just love it - Pembrokeshire is just stunning and the instructors at Preseli Venture make sure you have a great time in a very safe environment.
A great way to see this amazing coastline and if you are a bit of an adrenaline junky, you'll have a blast. Our children started at 9, so if they are confident swimmers you'll have no problems and will have trouble keeping them out of the water, especially when kayaking!!
This is a hostel not a hotel, so accommodation is fine and lots of showers which are well used after spending so much time in the sea. Food is nice and always goes down well after the strenuous activities, along with the Taffy Apple cider and Brecon Gin.
A big thumbs up and Happy 25th Birthday Preseli!

We wanted to extend our stay in Pembroke for 1 night and managed to get a booking here for a one night bed and breakfast (no activities). I can see how this would be a great break for city dwellers/hen or stag parties to get some countryside adventure, but it was a little disappointing as a 5 star rated Eco lodge for independent travellers.

There were modern wet room type showers, and the double room was nice with bed on a mezannine level. However, there were a few things that meant this place didn't quite match up to 5 stars. The doors in the bedroom block are very noisy (in desperate need of some oil) and the walls are paper thin- you can hear the conversations next door so sleep quality isn't great. The breakfast was very disappointing and could hardly be called a full cooked "Welsh" breakfast. It was self service bacon, eggs, beans, dry, stale toast and crumpets and was almost gone by 8:30am (supposed to be available 8-9am). Even having a separate toaster for people to make fresh toast would be better. There are no self catering facilities and the £15 dinner charge for a mass produced curry and rice was a bit steep so we went to a nearby pub.

Staff were cheerful but quite confused when we explained we were only staying one night and we had to ask for the key to lock our room.

At £80 a night it is very expensive, especially given we'd experienced a far superior stay for less than half the price just a few miles up the coast in Trefin.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Great to hear you liked the lodge’s double rooms and shower facilities. We enjoy welcoming groups and individuals alike at the lodge. We have been awarded 5 stars as a Visit Wales activity centre accommodation, so as such are a bit different from a hotel or bed & breakfast establishment.
We will certainly give the doors some oil – as we agree, a squeaky door shouldn’t be heard! Sorry too, if you were kept awake by other occupants…this past bank holiday weekend was our 25 years of adventure celebratory weekend, therefore some other guests may have been noisier out of excitement. But, extra sound proofing insulation for the walls will be looked into over the winter period.
We do our best to offer all home cooked meals prepared by our friendly catering staff, who would have been very happy to make more fresh breakfast items for you. The evening meal included freshly made chicken and vegetables in white wine sauce served with rice and dessert was Apple Crumble with custard…with complimentary tea and coffee. We usually have lovely comments regarding our food, so it would have been great if you had joined us for the taste test!
Our prices reflect the lodge facilities available to our guests in addition to a bedroom, including a private licensed bar, residents lounge with wi-fi and dedicated event co-ordinator staff. We strive to offer a friendly, welcoming stay in a beautiful part of Wales and also offer inspirational coastal adventures so are sorry to hear that you were slightly disappointed with your stay, but thanks again for your comments and have a great rest of your summer. Booked this family adventure holiday back in February and was quite nervous about what to expect. We are not normally the most active family but so glad we came. Exhausting but so much fun. We will be back again.

We had a great experience staying at the Preseli Venture Eco Lodge. They made it easy to organise and were helpful and pragmatic with booking. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
The food was good too and Viv's chocolate brownie deserves an award!! (many will agree I know!). We did 2 activities with them: sea kayaking and coasteering. Both of which were well organised and fantastic fun. Our guides, John, Megan and Libby were excellent.
There is a definite advantage to going on activities organised here as oppose to staying somewhere and then having to travel to a meeting point to meet up with guides etc. We simply had breakfast, the guides are here ready and waiting. You get a brief, get kitted up and off you go, - simple, safe, straightforward and most importantly very enjoyable. Preseli Venture Eco Lodge has been a good find. It offers excellent value for money and I would recommend it to others.

This was my second trip to Preseli, and I have had a great time on both visits! The Eco Lodge is well equipped with plenty of space and great facilities. The food is good, as is the bar and the local brew Magic Lager.

Would highly recommend and I'll be almost certainly visiting again!

Many thanks to Libby, Megan and Alex as well as all the other staff there for making our trip so much fun!

We have just got back from 5 days at Preseli. We just had 2 half days of kayaking as my son was on the young side. We loved it! The tuition was just pitched at the right level, and he is now full of confidence - thanks to Dean for his patience!
The lodge is basic, as expected. We found it clean and comfortable. The food was pretty good, and they catered well for my wheat-free diet.
Thanks again for a wonderful time.
