St Johns Manor

We usually stay in Exeter when visiting this part of Devon but decided to go for B and B outside Exeter for a change. While we thought we knew Bishopsteignton, we didn't know of St John's but having stayed there we can't wait to return.

The welcome was warm to this elegant house. Opening the shutters in our bedroom with a view of the Teign on a sunny morning is a memory which will stay with us. It really looks like the photos on the website.

The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom one of the largest we've seen. All were spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Breakfast was excellent - in an elegant sunny room looking out over the lawn to the river.

The welcome, the standards, the price (with free wifi) and the location put many a hotel to shame. I recommend St John's very highly indeed.

last year my partner booked wine tasting for us and we stayed at St Johns Manor down the road.

We both agree it is one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed and that Kerry was the perfect host.

The location is outstanding looking over the river, the rooms and house in general are phenomenal. Immaculately clean, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in and all the amenities required. Breakfasts were delicious and there isn't a negative thing to say about one of the best wkd breaks we have ever had!!

We stayed for 1 night at St.John's Manor in April 2014. We wanted a comfortable and welcoming spot to stay whilst visiting relatives in the area. St.John's Manor did not disappoint.

Our room was very comfortable and well presented with a fantastic en-suite bathroom with super powerful shower - and Carey really is as welcoming and charming as all the other reviews suggest - she has the balance just right - enough attention to make sure we had everything we needed etc, without over doing it.

Breakfast was really good with good quality ingredients cooked with care - we were set up for the day after a super 'full-English'.

We will be back.

We stayed at St John's Manor for two relaxing nights in March 2014. After a stressful drive from East London we arrived in the tranquil village of Bishopsteignton and checked into our delightful room - a bright, airy, garden-facing room with a really comfortable bed, soft carpet and a selection of teas to help us unwind!

If you want peace and quiet this is the place to come. You can hardly hear anything from the rooms save the birds tweeting in the mornings.

There's also a friendly cat prowling around the B&B that loves having his belly rubbed if you see him!

The B&B owner, Carey, is just great. A lovely lady who's always on hand if you need anything. And she makes a mean Eggs Benedict in the morning ;o)

Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: We had the garden view room which was lovely, however if it is available try and get the river view...

A beautiful place to stay with wonderful views over the Teign valley. Excellent accommodation spotlessly clean. Carey made us feel welcome from the moment she opened the door with hospitallity second to none. First class breakfast prepared to order with nothing too much trouble. All in all a fabulous house in a lovely setting.
There is an excellent pub/restaurant within easy walking distance.
We shall most definitely be returning.

We've just spent our second wedding anniversary there and it was wonderful. Such a stunning view from our room - i'd never tire of it, it really does look like the photos. Such a beautiful and relaxing place to be, fantastic hospitality and it was all spotlessly clean.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Excellent breakfast as well - lots of choice and great service. We loved it.

Room Tip: Definitely have the room with the view - it's stunning!
