I called 2 days prior to needing a Saturday night only stay over the Labor Day weekend. They were very accommodating and worked with me on a decently priced room for the night. We hadn't stayed with them since the late 90's, but they gave us a discount as a return visitor anyway. They were very nice and kind and we enjoyed our stay in Big Bear because of their hospitality.

We stayed here for one night in September. The Robinhood 'Resort' seems to have expanded to include nearby hotels, so there are 3 separate buildings with various levels of comfort. We stayed at the Wishing Well, and 'wished' we would have booked 'well' in advanced so we could have stayed in one of the other buildings. This section is old and could use some upgrades. How long has it been since you have seen a toilet in avocado? The walls had cracks and the paint was peeling. The floor in the bathroom had a slope. The shower was very large and echoed every sound in the bathroom. The knobs were all backwards and it took a minute to get a comfortable temperature. The bed was a double. This was possibly the only weekend in Big Bear when we would appreciate air conditioning, but the room had none. We slept with the window open and the fan on, but the good location is also popular with motorcyclists, who get up earlier than we do. There is a good restaurant on site called Nottingham's Tavern, and they gave us a 10% discount since we stayed there. The location is close to the main shops and Jasper's BBQ is nearby. The staff we met were very nice and didn't even mention our late check out. Check their website as the other rooms seem way nicer than others. I put 'Resort' in quotes because I have never seen a resort that didn't have a pool.

Room Tip: Don't book Wishing Well

We stayed at this hotel three years ago, and it wasn't that nice. We stayed there last month and it has been remodeled. Got a king size bed, there was a sofa in there as well! Table and coffee maker, refrigerator. New carpeting. Bathroom small, but that's just the way they were built years ago. But everything was so clean! I hope we can get a room there next time we go up for the hot rod show!

Love this place. Room is clean and cute.great location, friendly staff. The only negative the fireplace didn't work and they were unable to get it fixed up they did come right away to try and fix it. But over all it was a great place to stay.

we had a very bad experience, it's a cheap low budget motel with high rates!! our room smelled like cheap air freshener, the bathroom very small. the room very small. the carpet in the hallway was dirty. we tried to get an upgrade to a bigger room (paying the difference) and they didn't help us.
we had booked at expedia and it was already payed but we where willing to lose our money, we had to stay there cause we didn't find room in any other nearby hotel.
I don't recommend it at all. and beware if you get a room in the "wishing well" , it's very bad!
It has a good location if you want to walk around the village.

We needed a place to stay while doing work on a family member's cabin. The location is right in the heart of town. We stayed in room 61, in the older - farther away part of the hotel. Believe it or not this was one of the quieter rooms and had tile in the bathroom. Carpet was newer and room was clean. There was a fan in the room, but no air conditioning. I would stay in this room again, because this was a good deal for the money. Right across the street from our room was a very good Mexican Restaurant and several breakfast places. Chad's which is a large bar is close by as well as other places to listen to bands. Parking is right outside your room. Here is what to be aware of... our room would not be in my usual taste (décor) but so what. Rooms by the hotel restaurant courtyard are where the parties are (all night). Can be warm in the rooms if you can't open a window due to noise. Carpet in the bathroom in some of the rooms is not something I would want to be around. P.S. there is a lot to do in Big Bear in the summer - horse back riding, canoes on the lake, hiking, bicycling, ice skating, bowling, theater, movies, zip lining and just relaxing.

Room Tip: Rooms farthest away from the main hotel.

I have no idea how the "Resort" title originated. Creative marketing maybe.
And for the rates charged, it appears that Robin Hood is still alive and kicking.

This place is really just a motel - plain & simple, and one desperately in need of a face lift.

The rooms have ill fitting venetian blinds that allow a passerby to peek into the room, paper thin walls that let you hear the next door occupant coughing and a mishmash of odd & sod fittings that only just make the basic grade of a motel.

It is well located though - on the main drag / main road.
This is however a two edged sword, as traffic noise now competes with the next door coughing.

The bathroom is tiny, A fat belly person would not fit into the shower cubicle, which is barely bigger than a standard cupboard.

All in all - A 2 star motel with 4 star room rates.

A last "resort" perhaps.

Room Tip: A good room? Stay elsewhere.
