My colleague and I stayed at this apartment, which was booked by a company that we were consulting for nearby. We had checked out the review and they had looked very good, so we were shocked by the quality of this accommodation.
First up, entry to the apartments is off a driveway. I was on a lower ground floor, my door faced the driveway, which was a short distance from the main street. This did not feel very safe for a female traveller staying on her own (my colleague had an apartment on the first floor above ground level). While the apartment is only 100m to the village, the walk is pretty isolated and dark - which did not feel safe as I ran out to get some food.
Second, the free WiFI did not work. Third, the shower ran extremely hot or icy cold. One of the things I look forward to at the end of a long journey is a nice hot shower. This wasn't available. I ran in and out of the shower to avoid getting burnt or hypothermia. Fourth, the rooms had a very awful musty, cheap motel smelll - something between a combination of body odour and decaying mould. Fifth, the air conditioning did not work, so it was cold and dank in the room. Sixth, there was no information book in my room when I arrived at 7pm, which left me stranded in terms of logging into WiFi, where to go for dinner, and basically, how to call a taxi. Seventh, there was a sticky residue on the coffee table and the kitchen benchtop. The place did not feel clean even though it was not discernible with the naked eye. In the end, I was very glad to be out of there. I don't think that I'm a particularly fussy traveller and happy to stay in all sorts of places. This was perhaps one of the worse temporary accommodation I had ever come across for this price range.
We appreciate that our company selected this place for us, and therefore, we hadn't expected what they might have booked for us based on the pricing. Perhaps there were more modern versions of the apartment that we didn't get in Apartment 5 and 6. However, I would not recommend this accommodation to business travellers or single female travellers.
