10 family members enjoyed a lovely lunch in a welcoming restaurant. Everyone loved their meal. The restaurant was quite full but we didn't have to wait very long for service at any time.
We started with shared platters for entrée which we could have been advised the buy one more because 2 plates spread thinly across 9 people. Both were delicious! We had the seafood and skewers.
For mains many chose the BBQ ribs of which a 1/2 rack was more than enough. Very tender and accompanied by fat chips. Yum. Others enjoyed the flat head tails, seafood risotto and pasta; all raved about their meals. We also ordered 3 Greek salads to share which were refreshing and recommended to break the meat and carb fix if you had the ribs.
We couldn't fit dessert in but will return to try more meals.

We recently met some friends for dinner at Oscars and were pleasantly surprised. The food, from the steak to the seafood, was delicious. The prices are a little high but not over the top considering the quality on offer. The service was very friendly and attentive in a very relaxing atmosphere.
One thing however was the setting sun ( restaurant faces west ) which on the evening of our visit was blinding for those of us unfortunate enough to be facing Mount road. I was offered the "Sorry but it will only be another 10 minutes or so" (it was 20), and we were eventually moved to the back table where unfortunately it was almost as bad. I felt for the waitress who must hear this complaint every sunny afternoon. I would recommend some cheap blinds would solve the problem and would only need used for an hour or so each day.
Overall I will definitely be back as the food is too good for a bit of temporary blindness to be a deal-breaker, however we may just arrive after dark!

This is the finest of the various restaurants in North Essendon village, fine dining that is. We'd been once before two months ago, found it okay, but a new Winter menu and it really sang this time! The first visit we'd done three courses. This time a more restrained approach and we therefore thought about our choices. Both were superb. A risotto of chicken and chorizo, with the flavours of spring onion, parmesan and spinach had my partner smacking lips. An Asian slaw with prawns was just the way you'd expect a Thai slaw, clean, not gluggy and featuring both lime and nahm jim flavours. Accompanied with a delightful southern Pinot Gris, the waiter helped us choose. Well worth travelling to visit, but as locals just a stroll away, we will be back more often for sure.

I thought this would be average by the first look and it was even less hopeful when they'd lost our booking. It was never going to be a problem though as the place was empty for Sunday Lunch.
Once organised the service was quick, pleasant and spot on. The food was pretty good too, not cheap at all, in fact "up there" with better known places. I can recommend the risotto and everyone who had steaks loved them and cleaned the plates up. The flathead looked pretty good too. Ice cream for dessert, three types and delicious! others had various things and all got solid pass mark. A pleasant afternoon, you could do much worse.
