Everything about our brief stay was better than we could have expected. Very friendly and helpful hosts. The whole house is beautifully presented.... we had a lovely room and must come back in Summer to enjoy direct access into the garden. The cosy sitting room and Annie's delicious dinner was well worth staying in for. During our visit there was a problem with another guest and his car and Colin dealt with the matter over several hours with great patience and tact. We will definitely be back soon. Sue M. Devon

We have just stayed for a long weekend (2nights) in the Chesil room. Very carefully selected furniture and tea/coffee set, clean and good quality sheets and very comfortable bed. Just what we needed for a good rest. The breakfast ingredients were fresh, very delicious, home made cereals, apple compote, jams and marmalade, and tasty cooked breakfast. We have booked an in-door dinner in advance for Saturday night- cooked by the owner, Annie. She is a fabulous cook, we have enjoyed every single bite of each courses, could not fault anything. We can only recommend to everyone staying to book in for at least one dinner - unforgettable flavours with caring, friendly service. Looking forward to return again and again.

Room Tip: We loved the Chesil, but looking at other photos, all rooms seems equally well looked after.

A most beautiful property set in lovely tranqual grounds. A very classy premises which hits you as soon as you step inside. The decor is in keeping with the building and the finish is to an outstanding standard. The hosts Colin and Annie were lovely and extremely welcoming and the perfect hosts. As another review states, always there if you need them but quietly available in the background. We stayed in the Chesil room and it was spotlessly clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. It has a door leading out into the grounds at the rear of the property which we were unfortunately unable to make the most of due to the weather, but must be a huge plus in the spring and summer months. The food was delicious. We had both breakfast and also an evening meal on our first night. The dining area is a lovely spacious bright room which is accessed via a lovely cosy seating area, with a wood burning fire. Overall, a warm, welcoming, cosy and classy property which fully deserves its five star rating. Strongly recommended. If arriving in the dark, Munden House is the first property on your right as you turn into the lane from the main road.

Room Tip: As per my main review. Stayed in the Chesil which was excellent. Strongly recommeded although I can...

This is a beautiful property in a perfect location. My stay exceeded my (high) expectations in that the hosts were so very welcoming; the room was spacious and spotlessly clean; the breakfast gorgeous - clearly made using local produce. I will definitely be returning.

My wife & I spent one night here recently. Munden House is out in the sticks, but we were given excellent directions by the owners. The welcome was very warm & friendly without being over the top. Our room was very comfortable & clean, with a pleasing outlook on to the garden.
The breakfast was outstanding. Largely home made with locally sourced ingredients the food was both plentiful & delicious. If we pass this way again we would be hard put to resist the delights of Munden House.

Perfectly run by a great couple. Always there if you need them, but quietly available in the background. Very helpful of hints in the surrounding area to visit, and have a really nice sense of humour!! Very attentive staff. Great rooms, beautifully kept and comfortable. A genuine jewel, which must just simply be visited to fully appreciate its true charm.!!

Having read reviews of Munden House on Tripadvisor we decided to book an overnight stay en route to Cornwall, and were not disappointed. We booked 2 rooms, as we were travelling with friends from Austria, and were delighted with the warmth of our welcome, the comfort of our rooms, which were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. A nice touch was the flask of fresh milk for tea/coffee etc. We had booked an evening meal and Annie cooked us a really delicious meal from locally sourced ingredients, accompanied by a bottle of Italian wine, recommended by Colin.
After a very good night's sleep we were given an excellent English breakfast. Our friends were very pleased with our choice, especially as they don't have anything similar in the way of accommodation in Austria generally.

We hope to return in the not too distant future.
