Visiting Sherborne to see gardens open to the public weekend, very energetic, so it was lovely to come back to the peace quiet of the garden at Munden House. Our room was just what we needed and the poached eggs in the morning was the best we have eaten. We will be recommending to our friends.

Room Tip: We had only one with twin beds so great for us and easy access for elderly.

My partner and I took a last minute break at Munden House and stayed in the sweet and characterful Dairy Cottage. It is so much more than just a room and we really enjoyed having the extra space of a sitting room.

Before writing this I decided to read previous comments so that I wouldn't be writing exactly the same thing as everyone else. I was really surprised to read a recent review on exactly the same room we stayed in. Contrary to this review we had excellent Wifi connection which worked very well when we were looking up places to go and routes etc. I also had a couple of work emails to write and was really relieved to be able to do this.

The mobile signal was patchy in the cottage (Vodafone) but Colin suggested we tried the guest sitting room where we didn't have a problem. He also offered us the house phone which we didn't need in the end. Altogether we did not feel out of touch at all.

Munden House is rural and with that you have peace, quiet, a beautiful garden and a perfect rest. Sherborne is only minutes away but I am glad that we didn't stay in town. Along with a fabulous breakfast, warm welcome and spotless room, we could not ask for anything more. We would love to come back.

Room Tip: If you want the extra space diary cottage is perfect for you.

Colin & Annie will make you feel welcome and at home in their wonderful Country B&B. Excellent food, and very luxurious surroundings. It was a pleasure to look out on the gardens whilst having breakfast.

Very friendly people and professionally run business. Excellent rooms / cottages. We stayed in a very nice, yet small cottage (dairy cottage). Everything was great, BUT: You cannot communicate with the outside world! - No cell phone reception, no wired phone in the room. There is "wireless internet" in the room, but it is not functional. It takes 15 minutes to pull up one website.

Well, I am really sorry that Tony had such problems. I am the first to admit that being in a rural location in Dorset the mobile phone signal is far from good. O2 and Vodafone are generally there but others are not so strong at all. However, we are always happy for guests to give out our number and equally to use our landline if they need to contact others when they can’t get a signal. In terms of the internet this really surprised me. We use the same connection throughout the day and evening (as I am now). All rooms with the exception of the Summer House are hard wired and whilst it can be slower at “peak” times, I have never experienced anything like the 15 minutes wait to pull up a website that Tony describes. I am truly sorry that he had these problems; we will monitor it and make changes if necessary.

We stayed last week for one night. Everything was so lovely, so comfortable and so well done. Luxurious sheets and towels, attention to detail, perfect hosts and when I booked I asked if they could organise good weather and they even managed that!!!
Breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs from Annie and Colin's hens.
We are going back in July for our daughters wedding and have blocked booked it for two nights. I just know no one will be disappointed with the accommodation. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Room Tip: I saw all the rooms as we will be taking them all in July. All are excellent but i have a few favour...

Munden House is a delightful gem. We stayed in the Garden Cottage for 3 nights and it has everything you need to cater for yourself. It does, however come with the advantage of a beautifully cooked and presented breakfast each morning in the main house. Colin and Annie ensure their guests are fully catered for by providing lovely bedding, a fantastic mattress, bottled water, a daily jug of milk and a dog called Cassie to play with! Oh and not forgetting the kind birthday gift of a bottle of wine.

We had a fabulous time here and would thoroughly recommend this little tranquil haven in a gorgeous County.

Just spent the night there. The owners were polite and very friendly and the room we stayed in was perfect. A great little getaway for the night and I would recommend along with visiting the nearby town.
