Reception staff are friendly, rooms are average, food was overpriced and mediocre, food service perfunctory. The motel is a very long way from any other restaurants so you have to eat there, wasn't a big meal so we asked for dessert, told they had run out of dessert. We asked for snacks to take back to our room and were told they were out of them, gave us two little generic things of Arnotts biscuits .. all broken! Went to the bar, peeled the waitress away from her boyfriend and asked for chips or something, told they had run out. !!! Had booked in to return thru Adelaide 8 days later, on arrival same excuse, no snacks - sorry .. we've run out, had to walk 2k to the local servo to buy biscuits so we could have a cup of tea and a snack, after driving 500k to get there, that finished it for us. Room had one of those humming / rattling air con units which we had to turn off so as to sleep - Pool was out of order. Breakfast is pathetic, delivered to room the night before, 2 slices bread in glad wrap, a toaster, mini containers of fruit pieces, long life milk, no way to start the day if your traveling. By contrast we stayed in an identically priced family run Motel in Coober Pedy a few nights before, friendly, helpful, generous, comfortable, loved it, Aviators Lodge made us feel that we were only there to pay their rent. We were told by a taxi driver that there's a better Comfort Inn 5 mins away, closer to restaurants etc. Next time we stay there.

Room Tip: Skip it and find something better.

I only stayed one night in between flights. Shuttle service was rude and cranky. Desk staff friendly, meals average, room clean and basic, price is overinflated. The only asset is its close to the airport. Sure there are better options out there

Room Tip: ask for one at the back, you are on the main highway and on the end of the run way!

Stayed here because it was next to the airport and ideal for our next day flight. What a mistake!
The room was tired and unclean and somewhat cramped. The only ray of light was the receptionist on duty when we checked in, she could not have been more helpful and friendly. Which is more than can be said for the rest of the staff who took a "devil may care, why should we bother attitude". We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had to go and find a waitress at the end of the meal to order a coffee - that took 15 minutes to arrive and one of those was nearly cold! The meal was of a cheap cafeteria quality. On complaining about the coffe there was no concern shown.

I travel interstate every second week so stay in hotels 8 nights a month and this is easily the worst hotel I have had the misfortune to stay in.

Apart from the overpriced rooms, I made the mistake of questioning why they don't have Foxtel as a choice for their guests.

I returned home this week after a 2 night stay to find that my bill had been increased by $100 and already charged to my company credit card. When I questioned the charge I was informed that I had been hit with the charge for smoking in my room. I explained that I did not smoke in the room and was told that cleaners had found cigarette butts in my bin. Which is strange as I smoke cigars!!!

I also questioned why nothing had been said after the first night as the cleaners had been into the room.

The person (I assume the owner) was just obnoxious and is refusing to refund the charge and I have made a complaint via Choice Hotels.

As a seasoned traveller, I will not be staying there again.

Found the staff that I dealt with friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but nothing exceptional, especially for the price. I believe what you're paying for is the convenience of staying close to the airport. Fine for a one night pass-through, but wouldn't want to do an extended stay there.

I used to stay at this establishment through work. I tried to claim frequent flyer points that I was entitled to by my stay there. I was given the excuse that their card reader wasn't working, that I should do it myself online. I tried but to no avail, so I contacted Choice online. They fixed me up immediately. The next time I stayed there, the manager ("luv") had a go at me for getting in touch with choice. I told my company to put me up somewhere else, so I selected the Choice hotel in Glenelg. The rooms are $50 cheaper and the area is far superior, with access to shops, restaurants and beaches, and it is not much further from the airport. In fact, the place I stay at now recognizes the fact that I am a regular traveller and leaves little extras here and there for me. It's nice to know that they're not just after your money without any concerns about your welfare or enjoyment. In the manger's eyes at the Aviator's Lodge, the customer was always wrong. I love not staying there anymore. I also take my family to Adelaide several times a year, all of which we stay in Glenelg now.

Room Tip: find a different hotel

Stayed here for one night in so-called executive room(what a joke). The pool was not available due to maintenance- no drama. The room was only average. Pillows were terrible. Air conditioning is very noisy. Manager overbearing. Would not stay here again. Better off finding a hotel/motel in Glenelg (nearby suburb).

Room Tip: Stay in another location.
