“Great family holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2011

Fantastic location, great facilities for kids, villas are clean and spacious. Great family holiday spot on the beach. Close to glenelg and not too far from the city. Looking forward to our return with the family.

Interesting to read other reviews on this page and from the type of accommodation user it has come from. Yes the airport is close, yes you hear the airplanes but what do you expect. What you get with the airplanes is what you lose in big motels or apartments with noisy, close fellow travelers or car noise as you are away from major thoroughfares and the accommodation is spaciously separated. My family are returning for the third year straight. The resort is clean and secure. You can see your kids run around, jump on the castle, swim, ride the go karts, play on the grassed areas from your kitchen window or veranda. For families with kids it is perfect. The beach on one side, golf course on the other. A short stroll to Glenelg, a bus that stops right out the front, 10 minutes to the city by car, harbourtown and marion shopping centers readily and quickly accessible by car or bus. A beautiful sealed beach bike path for walking or cycling that leads into the city if your keen. I noticed their was a compliant about no news channels, whatever! The variety of sport and movie channels is great for families with kids needing a break.

My family stayed here twice during the July school holidays - first in an executive villa, then a bungalow. The villas are better in every way, as they are free standing and have a laundry which is great when travelling with children. Complex itself was great, although as it was July we did not use the pool. Good place to stay in Adelaide provided you have a car, but right on the beach if that's your thing. Bit noisy in the daytime as you are under the flight path, but planes stop around 9pm so it's not too bad.

I stayed here for a couple of nights as all the other accommodation in Adelaide was booked out. I wasn't disappointed. The 2 bedroom demountable unit was spacious, clean, modern, reasonably priced and had everything a small family would need except absolutely no news channels on the TV. The position is under the flight path to Adelaide airport and a great spot to listen to the thunderous roar between about 5 am to 11pm. This is a good place for kids with a huge jumping device as a centrepiece. There's no food on site and you'll need to bring your own or take a drive to a cafe nearby. The only annoyance was the pin number that had to be entered on every entry and departure from the park.

  • Liked — clean, modern, close to airport and Glenelg
  • Disliked — No News channels on TV and annoying pin entry procedure

This accommodation has a lot of good points and some bad. It all depends what you want for your holiday and your dollar. There are plenty of activities for kids. Good holiday for a young family, provided you like to wake early. The Holiday village is close to the airport. Which is great for travel and watching the planes in the afternoon. Not so good if you like to sleep in past 6am. Flights start around 6am and the planes are very loud. At times it sounded like the plane was coming through my window. The beds in the second bedroom are fine for kids, not for adults. The beds are made with wooded slats and the mattresses are very thin. I could feel every board. Very uncomfortable. I was not happy that we were hit with a price increase of nearly 25% when we checked in. We booked some time ago and I appreciate that price increases are part of the business, but not 25%. I stayed for 5 nights in a cabin with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It was winter low season. For an extra $31 I have 9 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and an ocean view on
the Gold Coast. For me this park is not value for money. For the price we were charged next time I will book a motel where I will get a fresh towel and wont have to make my own bed.

  • Liked — Watching the planes in the afternoon
  • Disliked — Over priced. To loud to early in the morning. Uncomfortable beds. Heating only in the lounge area. Cold bedrooms.

We have stayed at the holiday village many times over the past several years. It has a relaxing atmosphere with different things to do at the place. You can play tennis, volleyball, swim in their pools. They also have an indoor games room with plenty to offer. Close to the beach if swimming in the sea is what you would like to do. If golf is your thing there is mini golf as well as a full golf course just down the road. Teenagers have a skate park not far. Play area for the younger children. Sailing club right on the beach. Relaxed shopping centre at Glenelg with plenty of variety including lots of restaurants or take-away places to eat. Nightclubs close by if the nightlife is what you are looking for.
If you are just looking for a relaxing holiday you could stay at the holiday village and just enjoy the quiet serene surroundings.
