Re-visited with family members after 2 years' absence, from the UK, and not disappointed. They were happy for us to share two starters between four, very tasty and interesting. The most rewarding mains were goat cheese souffle, lamb and the gnocchi. Many dishes available either as entree or as a main course. We haven't tried desserts, which sounded avaerage. The head waiter quickly realised that the relatively new waiter was having difficulty with some of our queries, and came to our assistance very efficiently. From then on service was very good and professional. Particularly liked the back of the menu, where the owner describes his suppliers and the way he ensures good quality and fresh raw materials for the kitchen. Will be back!

Often hard to find good eateries in suburban areas, we were told this place had recently changed hands and had good food. We weren't disappointed, while atmosphere was a bit thin on the ground it was lively and busy on a Thursday night. The food was very good and hard to fault as was the menu choices. Possible not the best value for money and priced closer to city restaurant prices but overall we had a pleasant and enjoyable evening.

High Street Bistro has evolved into more of a straight Bistro over the time it has been opened.
It has the BEST coffee but as more coffee /cafes have opened nearby there is a reluctance to serve coffee & cake only, as once was the case. I was hoping to keep up my support for this great spot by buying a take away coffee. But the death stare I received when I placed my order quite put me off.
Apart from this minor quibble High Street Bistro is a great place to eat. We had a wonderful 'Valentine's Evening' this year. The restaurant had over booked and the staff were frazzled but carried on extremely well. The food is great and I love the Fornasetti wall paper.

We arrived a little early for our table and sat outside while waiting. The Maitre D - brought us 2 glasses and a bottle of chilled water and offered to open our wine. This was a nice touch and set the tone for a delightful evening. The waitresses were delightful, efficient and informative
We started our meal with complimentary warm rolls - another unexpected event
All 4 of us had delicious meals and remarked at the presentation, flavours and quality of food
My meal of fish of the day was the highlight - a large snapper fillet on fine pasta with horseradish sauce.
Whilst this restaurant is a little pricey - it is worth every cent
A delicious meal with attentive staff.
Definitely worth a visit.

We have lunched here 3 times now and the food has been excellent every time. They have a front glassed-in area which gets too hot on a summer's day if you happen to have a seat where the sun touches you although they do have blinds (which weren't working when we were last there so we just moved into a cooler area outside which was lovely). There is also an inside and an outside area so there was no problem moving. Service is a bit slow but the food makes up for this.
