Hmmmmmm. I often eat here and it has been a favourite for a number of years. But, today's effort would take it straight to elimination. And I'm rethinking whether I come back in a hurry.

My views:

Pizza - small but perfect.
Dessert - don't like jam jars and big spoons, not a good combination. Don't like the dessert being delivered to the wrong table. Don't like unpopped popcorn all caramelised in with the popped popcorn (and one kernal is understandable and forgiveable, but 13?). But the caramel panna cotta was (as George would say) 'yum'.
Coffee - why 50cents extra for decaf? Don't like the coffee being delivered to the wrong table either and then, despite our calling out and waving at the server, being taken back to the bar before being finally delivered to our table.
Billing - don't like a surcharge for using credit cards.

All in all, good food but very ordinary service.

First time to this restaurant since moving back to Melbourne recently and whilst the food was good (when it finally arrived in drips and drabs) the service was dreadful. What a great location for a sunday brunch but when the focus is on how slow the service was and total lack of care by the staff it is definitely the first and last time eating there, particularty with so much choice in that area why even bother.

Not sure what is the fuss with this restaurant? Had lunch here last month and very disappointed with the menu selection. So limited that we ended up ordering salad and fish and chip because we were hungry and just wanted to sit down somewhere.
The idea of having to queue up the line to pay for your meals first and then take a number and seated anywhere baffled me. This place is all decked up as restaurant style in a beautiful setting near the river yet the place is run like a canteen. To be honest, not impressed with either the salad or fish and chip but did enjoy the outdoor setting overlooking the river. The saving grace of this restaurant is not the food but the fantastic location near the river and park !

Arranged to have lunch there on Sunday with friends who have a young child as there is a kids park next to the restaurant. It was a cold day so i was surprised there is no outdoor heating at all. Even the open fire wasn't being used. No attempt to provide cover from the Melbourne winter for the customers. There was NO TABLE SERVICE so I lined up and placed the order for food and drinks. The EFTPOS machine wasn't working properly and wouldn't accept Amex so I had to use cash. Sus! The food (fish and chips and wagyu burger) was ordinary and my wife peeled off the overly thick batter to eat the fish on it's own. The tables nearby were not cleared so we amused ourselves by shooing away the hoardes of pidgeons descending on the leftovers. Its a fab place if you like dogs laying next to the table while you eat! Overated. The toilets are a disgrace. Won't be going back.

Food was lovely and service attentive. A great place for our daughter (masterchef fan) 13 th birthday breakfast. View and open fire were also wonderful for the atmosphere of the restaurant
